Eight of José Marruffo's fifteen losses have come by stoppage, so if Davis is really a big hitter he ought to get him outta there within 8 rounds.

 

Too much body work by marruffo. In 6 rounds head hunting is more profitable, imho. You can use body work to create openings, but marruffo is just abusing and it is not necessary. First because in 6 rounds he will not have time enough to get the right profit from this work. Second because davis' footwork is non existent, you need no body work to fix him, he doesnt move anyway.

 

...tbf Marruffo would need a step ladder to land on Davis' chin.

 

In the amateurs, Davis has a victory over Mario Barrios and close SD loss against Teófimo López. Suggesting that at least in that arena, his skills are halfway decent.

He scored zero RSC's though (Referee Stopped Contests) - so not sure where or when he was supposed to have developed this "Night-Night" reputation.
