    Round 1

Ramírez is tossing high double-flicked right jabs and then winging big looping lefts while walking Cardoso down. Cardoso popping the left jab down into the mouth of Ramírez. Cardoso calmly circling and countering, raising his goalposts over his face to absorb whatever Ramírez tosses at him. Good steady pressure by the Mexican but he isn't getting through clean with much of anything.

    10-9 Cardoso, close

    Round 2

Ramírez is jabbing into the guard to freeze Cardoso and then grazing him with right hooks off the jab. Cardoso tries an orthodox 1-2 and is caught and countered with a straight flurry.

    10-9 Ramírez

    Round 3

Ramírez circling with his back skimming the ropes, putting out a deterrent right jab and looking to land either straight lefts down the pipe or looping ones around the left wrist of Cardoso. Lots of reaching in by Cardoso, with single left jabs up top and right uppercuts on the body, but usually taking a receipt when he strays in too near.

    Round 4

Ramírez is pushing his line drive right jab up into Cardoso's face to force him on the backfoot. Left hands by Ramírez, alternating from body to head on a decline or incline. Cardoso's left jab is skidding over the right shoulder of Ramírez. Cardoso getting outboxed in the middle of the ring but then suddenly stuns Ramírez with a left hand! Cardoso moves in to drown him, trying a left uppercut, Ramírez steps in and smothers. Combos up top by the southpaw, fending off Cardoso. Right hook by Cardoso, then some drilling left hands into the side of the head in the clinch while Ramírez has his right arm trapped. Wild right hooks up top and straight lefts on the body by Ramírez to buy himself some room before the bell.

10-9 Cardoso, very close, stole it back in the last minute.

    Round 5

Ramírez with right hooks and overhand lefts, attempting to command the middle of the ring and push Cardoso into retreat again. This strategy worked for him in the 4th - until it cost him. Got to remain defensively sound. Cardoso is just standing still at mid-range, winging right hands down at Ramírez, hitting the nape of his neck and back of the skull as Ramírez puts his chin down and lets his hands go, working on the inside. Cardoso lunges in with a shot and Ramírez smacks him with a right hook left cross combo flush on the mush. Cardoso tries shoving in a left jab but Ramírez turns his right arm sideways and raises it for a shield.

    10-9 Ramírez

    48-47 Ramírez
