Cardoso trying to whip long right hands on the way in but Ramírez snapping pivots and lighting him up with counters. Cardoso blinking from some of the multiple impacts, but not really too shaken by any of Ramírez's stuff.

Round 7

Ramírez is putting out a double or triple jab as he boxes on the backfoot. Cardoso stalking, tossing long gavel right hands. Ramírez catches him rushing in with a straight left lead and then a right hook. Cardoso reaches in with a sweeping right on the body, missing. Ramírez with a flurry up top, missing the head, but plants his feet and tries another as Cardoso continues coming on. The second flurry connects with consecutive shots stiffening Cardoso's neck. Ramírez popping the jab in the face, then changing directions as he moves laterally and avoids the ropes. Cardoso not able to cut the ring off effectively.

Ramírez is slugging in the pocket, keeping his center of gravity low and shoulders hunched. Cardoso dances outside, preferring to pick him with full extension on his jab and plunge down at him with ice-fishing rights. Cardoso jabbing and tossing single right hands as they circle, then abruptly steps in with a left uppercut, surprising Ramírez. Cardoso eats a jab, then a left hand. Cardoso staying active, initiating exchanges. Ramírez just flurrying back and putting his arms out in the way to smother and shove back at Cardoso, sometimes tying up.

Round 9

Ramírez is keeping his distance, playing for accuracy, saving energy, walking Cardoso into counter lefts. Cardoso with a lead uppercut as they come together, with Ramírez's face down and in position to be vulnerable. Ramírez answers and rocks Cardoso! Coming forward, and eats a big shot from Cardoso that slows him down. Now a big right hook by Ramírez! Cardoso loading up on a right haymaker, telegraphing it as he trots after Ramírez and tosses out shuriken jabs. Ramírez sees the play and isn't giving him an angle for the right hand, moving counter-clockwise. Clash of heads and we have a nasty cut by Ramírez's left eye. Cardoso meanwhile has been bleeding from his nose for the past several rounds.
