González is scoring guerrila warfare body shots diving in low and then grabbing around Barriga's waist or melting away into a lean-away crouch on the outside. Barriga tries jabbing his way in, but González is flurrying as smokescreen to hold and release, never letting Barriga stay in a groove. Ugly but effective stuff from the Puerto Rican.

González is ducking away into the ropes and then leaping up like a cornered animal with high flurries in midair, clinching upon landing. Barriga is parrying away the González southpaw jab with his own and looking to slot in another to score before González can slink away or fling himself inside with another burst of fistic confetti.

Round 6

González is rushing in, slapping at the head and tying up. Barriga is countering with gavel overhands and body shots to pry González off. Barriga slips and dodges a few González bombs, then gets put in a headlock while jabbing in. High double jab by González trotting in, chased out as Barriga shows his own jab. Left-jab-left by González lunging in from a distance, making Barriga pull straight back and duck against the ropes. Nice counter left from Barriga just before the bell.

Bomba is making this hideous. It's a compelling stylistic matchup but increasingly difficult to watch.

 

Round 7

González is shooting up from below, flashing one hand or both in Barriga's face, and clawing at him to resist gravity. Barriga nonplussed by his tactics, seemingly doing all he can treading water and freeing himself from clinches or avoiding the wild spray of leather and forearm that is constantly zipping around inches from his eyes. Barriga with the odd good right jab or body shot, but González too chaotic and kinetic (and dirty) for him to mount anything prolonged.
