    González is wrapping the crook of his elbow around the neck of Barriga, hooking as basically an excuse to draw him into clinches. González doing his best scoring with a sneaky whiplash underhanded right hook on the body as he snags Barriga's right armpit with his left glove and tugs him in close. Barriga is slamming in some hard right hooks of his own as they clinch repeatedly. Both men score big up top. González comes forward, and Barriga flurries on the face, then ducks away past a González hook. Barriga lands a hook, ducks another from González, and misses a sweeping left.

    Here's how we make lemonade out of the lemon this card turned into (scoring-wise) ...

    • González makes his next defense versus Cordova, who is probably up in the WBO rankings now with that Latino belt. At least somewhere top 15, good enough to be a voluntary, whatever.
    • The co-main event is the (IMO) rightful pair of winners tonight, Barriga vs. Aragón Vega for the right to challenge for the world title next.
