Two completely different knockdowns in the same round, night & day. Núñez's right hook was damn near a KO shot, while Salcido's jab was just a quick blip as Núñez was imbalanced.

 

Round 8

Núñez is clinching a lot, encircling Salcido's waist in his arms following each melee despite usually gettin the better of them. Ref gives Núñez a stern warning. Salcido winging in a looping right hand on the body from outside. Núñez countering with right jabs and dropping a level with pesky defensive movement, ramming his shoulder into Salcido's diaphragm.

Round 9

Núñez is hurt by a head clash. Salcido wrestles him onto the canvas moments later. This is really degenerating. Ref is too damn old for this ****, just lackadaiscally waving his arms in the air to indicate Núñez wasn't knocked down. They scramble and trade hooks on the inside. Núñez still doing the "get low, bump inside shoulder first" strategy to slam the wind from Salcido. Wild shots in the pocket from both, largely errant. Núñez is sitting low and then shooting up with a jab and line drive left, popping Salcido on the way in. Nothing getting through for Salcido except some incidental cuffing left hooks now and then. All his plunging right hands miss as he chases a ducking Núñez.

Round 10

Núñez is dancing around, mostly playing keepaway. Salcido rolling on a slow conveyor belt after him. Núñez is ripping him with counter lefts and right upper-hooks, solo blasts and then holding. Salcido bringing no added urgency in the final minute. A few sloppy chopping punches in the clinch.
