The right hand was ridiculous. Ortiz was not whatsoever ready to get hit with that. Could have been a more serious situation. People get ****ed up, fatally injured in this sport. Floyd is lucky Ortiz wasn't badly damaged. I'm still trying to figure out why one of my boxing heroes would do that kind of ****. This is a sport. Even in the streets that was a pure sucker punch. Floyd's history of this sort of thing isn't helping the situation very much either.
So it's okay to take a fight to the street but then not okay to have it finished there? That's a lot of spin even for Oscar.
dude pulled up about 10 african american names in all that nonsense smh bias! denial it aint just a river anymore brothers
For putting himself in that position. Yes. Ortiz was at fault. Thing is it didn't look like he was expecting to get hit. So you might want to say Ortiz was ignorant. Not negligent. Floyd's body language only took on physical, readable menace once his fast twitch muscles had already gone from 0 to 170mph. It LOOKED like a possum ambush attack. Floyd exploded out of nowhere. No accidents. No mistakes. He knew what he was doing. Taking not one but two cheap shots. The second of which was designed to remove Victor Ortiz' head from his shoulders.
in more ways than 1 for the head butt which stopped the action for trying to hug 10 times for hugging then dropping his hands for looking at cortez instead of defending himself after the left even the super happy friendly glove touchers who tap every 3 seconds do so on their toes and keep distance don't hate floyd because ortiz did several things that led to what happened
I understand the point you are trying to make, and absolutely never want to see a fighter seriously injured in the ring, but that is the chance every warrior that steps into the squared circle knowingly, and willingly takes. Mayweather acted like a veteran, in the sense he knew what he could get away with. I didn't like it, and HATED it had to end that way, but I can't argue it. At least Ortiz wasn't hurt, as that was one of the most serious left rights Ive seen land in awhile, and the person everyone knew was going to win, won. At least Floyd wasn't losing before all the bull**** happened.
You're right about Floyd's intentions. And I saw the punch in slow motion, and it was indeed a VERY dangerous punch, with Ortiz almost completely relaxed. But I can't sympathize much, man. Seconds ago he jumped in the air so he could headbutt Mayweather in the mouth point-blank. Not to mention the times he stuck his head in Floyd's chin and pressed upwards, before the headbutting sequence. He made it dirty, and Floyd carried on afterwards.
