atsch Just more of the over simplification you apply conveniently to the actions. The ref stopped the action after the headbutt. It wasn't like Ortiz dropped his guard for no reason and wanted to talk to Floyd. Ortiz ****ed up on his part, but floyd took a cheap shot to win. And you just make it simple to stick to your cause. For an educator, that is terrible rationale to apply. "Yes, class, two wrongs make a right!!" :roll:JFC....
The experts are right. No matter how COWARDLY it may seem, it is still legal. Protect yourself at all times.
:| Lol, but nah seriously, that was not a sucker punch, Ortiz got caught slipping! The crazy part is that if Floyd would have jump-head-butted Ortiz, man the media and you haters (not saying you are personally a hater) would have talked about that s--t until the next century ... Man I tell you to be young, black and rich is a lot to deal with. Guess I better study since I am 2/3 there:good
ESB Logic Hit a guy who is on the ground: Great, and if he is KO'd he's faking. Hit a guy who just headbutted you: you ****ing are a disgrace to the sport and should have hugged and spooned with him for a couple of hours watching movies and eating popcorn.
to be fair they werent as one sided as the brothas. Wolak said he would just throw the left and donaire said he wouldnt of done it.
Everybody including their mommas know what PBF did was legal and within the bounds of boxing. However, what is legal may not necessarily be classy, honorable, and/or decent. The beef in all these lies however in doing what should be honorable and classy, especially for sportsmen at the top level. People may have expected too much from a perennially classless and proven brute, hence the disappointment. A leopard will never change colors overnight. It is what it is.
Donaire nails it perfectly. Fighters should not have to baby their opponents. It's fighting. C'mon now. Class and respect are important but doing what it takes to win and playing by the rules are just as valuable if not more. Again, it's fighting. If someone headbutts me illegally and leaves his jaw wide open, I'm going to capitalize on his mistake because: (1) Payback is justified (2) I want to seal a victory as soon as I can because another chance to win may not come in the later rounds where I can sustain an injury or get into freak accident causing me to lose. Once I hurt the guy he cries and says, "But I wasn't ready! No fair!" Are you kidding me? You have been a pro fighter for years. You should be fully aware of what the rules are. I don't know why so many people give Ortiz a pass; he was so incompetent that night. Bottom line: You snooze, you lose.
