Nigel Benn was an awesome kickboxer in the 70s, winning MMA underground tournaments against men 2-3x his age and beating 6th dan Pat O'Keeffe (broke his arm with a roundhouse kick!).

Vyacheslav Shabranskyy was a kickboxer too. 'Born on May 1, 1987, in Korostishev,Ukraine Vyacheslav Shabranskyy started kickboxing at the age of 13 and went on to win over 30 tournaments in 2 years, where he always came in first place .He was extremely dedicated to the sport and remained undefeated. He holds international and national titles and has earned his master of sports in kickboxing in 2003 after winning 1st place in the World Tournament in Greece in Kos Hellas. He also finished in 1st place at the European Championship in Hungary in 2003. In 2004 he once again became a world champion, in Korfu, Greece. He earned international recognition as master of sports in kickboxing in 2005.'

A lot of these Thai boxers must have come kickboxing backgrounds too. I'm sure there was one who won a world title after only a few fights who was.
Matt Skelton was too, although I think he dabbled in MMA as well. Lucas Browne was an MMA fighter. In fact, he was stopped in 2 by the current UFC HW champion Daniel Cormier.
