Does anyone know how much this I going to run in the US?? I want to see this fight, but there is NO way I am paying more than $50 bones for this one, especially while my subscription for DAZN went up. Ridiculous..
I think part of the issue is they probably see a negligible difference in buys between a $49 PPV and a $69 PPV. If a fight does 300k buys at $49, it only has to do more than 213,000 at $69 to beat that. It's not likely that nearly a third of people are put off by the extra $20 and so don't buy it.
Regis is IMO on of the top fighters and definitely one of the most underrated, and this is actually a meaningful fight.................I'll deal with the price regardless for this one. Now if it was $70, and he was fighting a no name, non elite............I'd pass, but this is significant.
Yeah, this is one of those fights that you got to see first hand. It is significant and will answer a lot of questions about both fighters.
Very strange. Boxing fans in the UK baulk at being asked the equivalent of 30 dollars for a fight. I guarantee if it reached the equivalent of 50 dollars they would have pretty much zero buys in the entire UK.
But a fight like this in no way near PPV level in the UK. This is obviously the gap where DAZN has moved into for us
Disagree with that, they do put on some egregious PPVs in the UK. We did have two non-title fights between Eubank Jr and Smith as PPVs, and we were also going to get a non-title fight between AJ and Dillian Whyte as a PPV. Last year, non-title fight between Joyce and Parker was PPV. The difference is that the price points are typically £19.99 for a lesser show like three of the four above and at most £29.99. Haney-Prograis is an excellent fight and if, say, Haney was a UK fighter instead people would definitely pay for it.
50 bonerooskis isn’t that much. Support your favorite boxers, it’s a good fight. Haney has balls moving up to fight a top 3 guy in the division.
