Proksa has never been offered a fight with Andy Lee!!!

Big Ears. I was at the Upton Park Mitchell card and I would say at least 70% of the crowd were West Ham fans there to see Mitchell. The show was very very well promoted by Frank Warren you couldnt turn on Sky Sports or open a London tabloids sport page without hearing about Mitchells fight 2 weeks before the fight.

Barker promoted properly in any Europan defence could get 4000-5000 in London (Paying £40 for cheapest ticket to). The Macklin fight would have been at Alley Palley and they were going to have all 4 stands up. Thats 6000.

Agaisnt Lee when you add the Irish in London i think 5000-6000 is an achievable number.

 

also Haye would probably be the biggest ticket seller in london but it doesnt look like he will fight here for a while.

 

Ya I know you were there, and I'm sorry to hear about what happened after. I'm also aware of the promotion Mitchell got which brought about a dramatic rise in attendance. That's why I believe that my seemingly unrealistic attendance figure can be achieved. Hype the fight like hell in Ireland, give it a bigger(much bigger) promotion than Dunne vs Cordoba/Poonsawat and you'll see that the figure can be met. Get Limerick and Munster fans onto the Andy Lee bandwagon, Limerick GAA fans have had a hard time of late and they'd especially be looking out for someone successful to represent them.

Affected Toaster don't undersell how stupid a large amount of our population is. You keep telling them something is the biggest event ever and they'll start believing it before long. I mean look at the recent Munster vs Leinster match in Thomand, it was a sell out but how many times do you think that game could have sold had the attendance not been capped by the arena ?
Sure a hell of a lot of that was caused by the hype of the Good Friday drinking thing, but you could only drink till something like 23:00 ?, so a night out was out of the question and normally everyone stocks up and drinks and has/goes to a house party that day instead. Yet due to hype people were flocking to Limerick even without match tickets just to pay more for drink than they would have they bought it in the off-license the day before.
There's the effect of hype for you.



Rob, the Irish heavyweight title was last fought between Coleman Barrett and Colin Kenna. There has been 24 Irish title fights in the last 4 years. This compares with 4 between 1998-2002, now that sounds like a resurgence to me. 2 of the last 3 Irish title fights have been defences(Andy Murray vs Oisin ***an and Pajo Hyland vs Mickey Coveney). Paulie Hyland also defended his title against Eugene Heagney last year and Stephen Haughian succesfully took the title from Billy Walsh last year. The way you've talked about the Irish title has been very disrespectful, as is to deny a man his right to claim the nationality of both of his parents, when he feels it is his own aswell.

 

Northen Ireland is part of the United Kingdon/Great Britain.

McCloskey, Magee and Lindsay are all Northern Irish and have fought for the British title. Have they ever won an irish title?

Ok most shameless was a stretch, there's plenty of papery champs, but for the EBU to allow a title match against an opponent who had just been easily beaten by another European shows how rotten that organisation is.

I don't know what your problem with Irish boxing is though.

 

If you asked each of these boxers are they Irish or British what do you think they would tell you? Jamie Moore won the the Irish title so that makes him Irish I suppose.

i dont have a problem with Irish Boxing. Just when I hear people saying Barker is going to duck Lee when no offer has been made and he has never ducked anyone previously, I am going to defend him.

Also i really dont rate Andy Lee.

and Lougloun saying that 3 british champions are not british is what pisses me off.
