Of course he would but it's promoters who decide where these fights are held because money talks, listen Barker could have this fight in his own living room and Lee would still school him.

 

you base that one one bad fight that he took at 3 weeks notice.

 

I base it on the fact that Lee has too much for him in every department, I don't get what some of you see in Barker. Macklin, Lee and possibly even Duddy would beat him.

Now people from Northern Ireland are entitled to British or Irish citizenship which is fine. They are also entitled to fight for the British title. But are you really naive enough to believe all fighters from Northern Ireland who fight for the British title consider themselves British ?, some of them do. However a large amount only do it to further their careers. I mean you look at someone like McGuigan, he wasn't even from Northern Ireland but he still saw the British title as a usual tool to progress his career and took the British citizenship he was entitled to through his mother.

The Hylands'(Patrick, Eddie and Paulie) have even considered getting a British passport just to fight for the British title, but they by no means consider themselves British.

It's no different from Ajose Olusegun, now while Ajose is entitled to call himself British, I'd bet he really just sees himself as Nigerian. Yet he's British champion and now holds a British passport.

not that i give a flying ****, but i'll spell it out for you.

Paul Mccloskey, John Duddy and Martin lindsay all consider themselves Irish.
They are of course from Northern Ireland, which is technically in the UK. Now unless you have been living under a rock for the last 30 years, you would know that this point is a contentious one.
Now, none of these lads are oparticularly bothered with politics, so they have no problem fighting for British and Irish titles as it is available to them. It furthers their careeer,gives them better fights and it can unite communities.
But if push comes to shove, theses guys consider themselves Irish and not British. If for some reason you cant understand that, then there is nothing i can say to make you understand.

As was pointed out jamie moore was a former irish champion. Although he has Irish blood, I wouldnt really call him irish as he considers himself british. Which is fair enough.
