Honestly outside Peter Quillin I dont see any American at 160 pounds whose good enough to crack the top 15. what you saw was a top 10 middleweight get his ass handed to him by a top 3.

    1. Martinez - Arg
    2. Chavez - Mex
    3. Golovkin - Kaz
    4. Geale - Aus
    5. Sturm - Ger
    6. Pirog - Rus
    7. Quillin - Us
    8. Macklin - Uk
    9. Barker - Uk
    10. Proksa - Pol
    11. N'dam - Fra
    12. Murray - Uk
    13. Lee - Ire
    14. Mundine - Aus
    15. Soliman - Aus

Proksa is good enough to enter the top 10 so stopping him in 5 was pretty impressive, and willing to fight anyone from 154-168 takes some balls.

Considering Sturm would rather take on Macklin, Murray and Geale (all good fighters in their own right) but refused to fight Golovkin says it all really

he's still a good fighter in my books..

in all honesty, GGG and Pirog are the best europeans I have seen in a long long time.

If anyone is overhyped, it's Pirog. Still riding that win over Jacobs which IMO wasn't even that great. Jacobs was young and was winning the early stages of the fight when he got caught by something he didn't understand (props to Pirog for the tricky movement)

So a weak division means those 2 euros are elite material, got it.

I'm still not ready to name GGG the next big thing in the Middleweight division, but I will say he's no bum. The guys has very good technique and is very relaxed and calm in there even when taking shots. He is a fighter to keep a close eye on.

MW division is not weak, you just seem to have a bias against European fighters.

Proksa gained my respect by taking those hard punches and kept coming. He's got a TON of heart. Looking forward to seeing him again in 2013.

You want to talk about overhyped fighters and you got Canelo in your avi? the dude has got Cotto, Lara, Kirkland, Trout, Bundrage, Baysangurov, Mayweather and hes picking on a guy who is 2 weight division lower than him in Josesito Lopez whilst ducking everyone under the sun :patsch

The Middleweight Division is looking at its strongest in years, Hopkins pretty reign was laughable due to the weak competition til Taylor and Pavlik easily came up in the ranks, then Pavlik gets his ass kicked by the number one in Martinez. Now we got Chavez, Geale, Golovkin, Sturm all of which are at the top along with a long list of top contenders.

He did exactly that, as much as I enjoy his fighting style id rather him learn to keep his ****ing hands up and learn to step in and out a bit more, thats how Martinez is able to be so effective but sadly Proksa right now is a small middleweight that would be better suited at 154

Definitely not this GGG is good and should be a hard fight for most at 160 but when people a lot of them saying no one from 154 to 168 beat him is ******ed at best his best win is an amateur bout against Bute  would love to see him fight a better opponent not.another hyped euro kid.
