I really enjoyed his fight with Proska. I hope people don't avoid him and we get to see more of him against world class opposition

Ethnic Kazakh's make up 63% of Kazakhstan's total population and Muslim's make up 70% of the total population. Christianity makes up 26% of the population which is almost the exact % of Russians and Ukrainians.

Yes he did. He went into and went out of the fight Gunz a Blazzin'.

His lack of a consistant trainer and going into the fight of his life on short notice killed him.

Khurtsidze yes. Zbik no. The only worthwhile thing Zbik has ever done to convince people he doesn't suck (and trust me, he SUCKS) is to give Chavez and incredibly hard time and perhaps deserve the nod against him.

However, Chavez is all smoke and mirrors to me. Maravilla will expose him soon.

He's a big strong guy that Roach has turned into an offensive seek-and-destroy type which works against guys who are a) smaller and weaker and b) too limited to overcome those disadvantages.

He isn't particularly skilled or talented in his own right.

He's just big and strong (possibly with "help") and benefits from Roach guiding his offensive abilities to maximize them.

There will be a time when people look back and laugh at the fact that he was rated among the very best.

The Pavlik of 2007 would have blown throw Macklin, Barker, and Geale like a hurricane blows through a thatched hut.

He's a warrior, but after Hope I and now Golovkin it's time we realized that his "uber slick magical skills" aren't quite what they seemed against his previous level of opposition.

Moving your head for no reason at random times and happening to make slow uncoordinated opponents miss looks all well and fine, creating the illusion of having flashy and effective defense, but it's been proven in those two fights how limited it really is.

Even offensively, his technique when you get down to it is sorely lacking and it comes down to his lack of any real foundation of coaching having taught himself the sport and come up with his own weird style (that will only take him so far and won't bring success at the top echelon).

I like to watch him, and will never question his heart - but his weird modified shoulder roll and those triangle-armed overhand lefts no longer seem like quaint eccentricities so much as dangerous liabilities.

The veil has been lifted. The term "exposed" is disrespectful, but the last year has certainly been a reality check as far as Proksa's actual level of ability is concerned.

Good fighter, not destined to be great.

He would never beat Golovkin, if they fought twenty times.

Spot on post really. I never felt he would amount to a world-level fighter with that sort of Martinez style without big power or proper footwork.

Everything just looked terribly uncoordinated. Like when Emmanuel Augustus would clown around....except Gregorz was being serious about it :nono

the ridiculous hands down style seems to attract a certain type of boxing fan but it does him no favours. as others said he was beaten by kerry hope it wasnt a fluke or a robbery. its very frustrating to watch.

and yet hes clearly got natural talents. with proper technique he would be a real force around the back end of that top ten. as it stands at the moment i would expect heroic losses against most of them. who knows if its too late or if hes intelligent enough to address this.

its a great looking division, with loads of really good all action fighters in it. he should look macklin or barker next. that will really give us a clear idea of where hes at.

best of luck to the kid, he gives it his all for our entertainment, i hope he makes a few quid as well.

He's hot headed, a bit of a wacko. Great natural talent and heart but trusts in himself a bit too much. Instead of working and working on defense, basics and a rational gameplan vs GGG he takes the fight on 2 weeks notice, jumps in, goes toe to toe and is counting on some kind of miracle, an intervention of destiny or whatever..

Not very mature, somewhat of a shame but it is what it is.. He ain't old yet but IMO he needs to cool off, not care that much and take it easy.

I agree.....looks like Proksa is taking the rest of the year off. I'm sure he will be back refocused next year to give us some exciting fights. I'm not giving up just yet.

    :good

Yeah, I think back end of top ten is a fair ceiling for him.

Don't see him beating Barker or Macklin (or maybe even Murray) but he'll be able to clear out a lot of the riff-raff fringe contenders and beat most of the top gatekeepers/journeymen.

MW is looking like a real strong division right now. Just between the top 4 or 5 there are some potentially awesome matchups. Bring Canelo up and it'd be spectacular..
