Been thinking about this for a bit, We need a thread where we can discuss the current boxing promoters and the events they promote. Major Promoters/Topic about them to discuss, A little scrambly I know...:The corruption of Bob Arum/Top Rank and old Don King, The biggest promotional company Golden Boy Promotions, Lou Dibella who has Sergio Martinez, The crippling promotional agency Universum-Box Promotions who was once a big force in Germany and throughout Europe, The great cards promoted by Team Sauerland featuring all the best in Europe, The big competition between British promoters Eddie Hearn ( Matchroom ), Ricky Hatton Promotions, and Frank W. who all give quality cards in they're own right, ****** even owns his own thriving boxing channel in the UK called Boxnation! And some other good but slightly smaller ones such as Main Events ( Kathy Duva ) USA, Vladimir Hyunov's Russian promotions, Sampson Boxing in the States here, Yyon Michal's GYM Promotions of Canada and a pair of Italian Promotions Boxe Loreni and Opi2000, Also thriving. I'll throw in Dibella Entertainment. Not the most high profile promoter in general but in terms of making a case for his fighters and trying to make decent matches I like him a lot. He's done wonders for fairly limited appeal fighters like Paulie Malignaggi, and is mostly known now for promoting Sergio Martinez.
