Froch should forget about Taylor right now and go after Bika, Larsen or Dirrel, all of them pretty good fights. Maybe he could land an unification fight with Kessler or Balzay later on the year.

WBC should get serious and drop Taylor out of their top 5 for refusing this title fight.

I'd say lets have Froch vs Kessler now.

    100% correct.

I've been saying since BEFORE Froch won the title v Pascal that Taylor and his management would NEVER fight Froch. They were deliberately avoiding him then and they are now. Check my posts. I've always said this fight wouldn't happen.

Taylor is a laughing stock which is a shame as he appears like a nice fella. Personally I blame that ****** Di Bella who never fails to come across as anything other than a complete prat

Surely if he wins the title that increases his potential earning power for his next fight? I'd say that champions status makes it worth it to suffer a 'measley' 1.6 million payday for Froch.

This garbage is why boxing has become a less relevent sport than it used to be.

So then, who's gonna be the mandatory to Froch? Andre Dirrell?

What a dumb move by Taylor. He has the chance to fight an overrated opponent, whom I think he would actually beat (and I'm from Nottingham, Carl's hometown), get 1.6mill and most impirtantly, get the WBC title, which is surely what his ultimate goal is anyway? He can't fight anyone else and get this, so why refuse?

I used to respect Taylor. *****

It's obvious why he(and DiBella) have refused the Froch fight twice now.THEY ARE NOT CONFIDENT OF VICTORY.

Froch is easily the most avoided fighter in world boxing today

Like I said before, this is probably a full million less than he gets from his show time date. He got $2.5 for the Lacy fight.

He turned down $1.6m and a chance to win the WBC title and instead wanted to try make a fight with Pascal, who Froch beat??

    A shame.....

That certainly sums this thread up nicely. Same guys saying Cal should fight Jones instead of Pavlik for a guaranteed $10 Mill because it was a bigger pay day too I'll bet. (Last I heard the Jones fight brought him about a mill less too......)

1.6 is low money for Taylor...lol. But he is no longer a boxer looking to be or fight the best...he is fight for money and that is it. I dont support his ass anymore.

1.6 million may well be lower than he is used to but the fact is he is not a belt holder at 168 and is not making any noise whatsoever to try and fight the titlists.

Everyone knows money talks but the Allan Green fight is a step backwards from the Lacy fight in many respects.....baffling

Just fight the belt holders or don't bother being in the 168 division

You can just sense he's waiting for someone else to bring a belt back to US shores so that he can win it cheaply without the risks being taken

But I always questioned Taylor's "intentions" after the second Pavlik loss. I thought he was going to retire. Now it just looks like he is trying to get paid the easiest way. He should be no longer taken seriously b/c he is not fighting for belts etc etc. He and his promoter are very transparent. I dont blame you guys for leaning on him about this. Why in the holy **** would he fight Allan Green. That is ******ed.

$1.6 million is NOT a big payday for Jermain, especially considering he would be traveling to get it.

Hennessy's $1.6 million offer was for an April date, NOT the March 28 date Showtime has offered Taylor, meaning Taylor may not have had US tv coverage for the fight. $1.6 million to go abroad and not get aired in your home country? Please.

Froch would have made his biggest payday BY FAR in coming to the U.S. and fighting Taylor, but Hennessy turned down a guaranteed $600K guaranteed plus whatever they would've made on UK tv that would have put Froch well over $1 mill.

It's hard for me to blame Taylor here considering Green would've never been on the table for him if it weren't for DiBella, who manages both fighters. I think DiBella is the one to blame for not trying harder to get a better fight for his primary breadwinner. Taylor has said on several occasions that he wants to win belts again.

I also think they may be waiting for a guy like Dirrell or Ward to go take the WBC strap from Carl, and then set up a fight with one of those guys that could be HUGE in the U.S.... 2000 olympian vs. 2004 olympian... past champ vs. new champ... etc.

The fact is, Froch is flawed enough that he is going to be irrelevant in boxing in a year or two max, so in the long run I don't really care if Taylor decides to take another route to a belt. Someone is going to expose Carl; if Jermain doesn't want to be that guy bad enough to travel to the UK for a $1.6 million dollar payday in a fight that nobody in America will see, then whatever.
