You could have saved a lot of words if you realized that your post, like mine, are like the proverbial elephant in the room that every one tries hard to pretend isn't there.

Were these same posters saying it was OK for Cal to duck the $10 mill offered by Pavlik even though JC had called him out? They said Cal was entitled to fight a shot to **** RJJ for what turned out to be a little less money. After all, it was his first "last" last fight. :patsch Now Taylor wants a bigger payday and that is just WRONG? Dibella said they were idiots if that is what they want to believe and he was right.

At his rate, we are as well scrapping all the belts and having the "HBO" and "Showtime" titles instead.......

So? How are the ABC's any better? They are beyond joke. Might as well go with "free market" forces. In the end, the ABC's are about 'their share' anyhow. How can you have top ten lists with NO overlap in a division?

if I was taylor I would duck him too. I mean, if a joke like pavlik knocked his ass out can you imagine what froch would do:shock:. Just the thought gives me nightmares.

And? $1.6M is excellent money with no superfight on the horizon and in a bad economy. Especially for an easy payday. Getting his ass kicked vs. Kessler for the same amount of money maybe doesn't worth it. But Taylor has the tools to grab $1.6 for less than an hour's easy work.

But who knows, he might end up fighting Roy Jones in the Summer, another fighter who left the Calzaghe fight messed up with blood.

  8. It's because HBO don't want one of there darlings losing to a Brit that isn't known in the States...

ABC's may not be better but they protect fans of the abuses promoters and HBO could make. US TV is the main reason why Taylor is richer for having fought a shot Lacy. Calzaghe for having fought a shot Jones. Dawson a shot Tarver. De la Hoya extra shot being beaten by a guy who comes from 3 weight classes under. Aren't you tired to be taken for a dumb ass? ABC's belt are not perfect but at least they dont let the TV business get too corrupted. I'd say both protect us from the other.

It is **** poor if you can make more. It is all relative. Again, no one wants to answer my JC question. Isn't money the reason he gave for not fighting Pavlik? It was OK for him? Now it isn't OK for JT? Why?

I think it just goes to show that the US really doesnt like british fighters unless they are the best thing since sliced bread. Come on America, give froch a chance! Its not like he brings absolutely nothing to the table is it? I know 1.6 million isnt mega bucks but its still a decent slice of money to fight for and the chance to get the world title.

Sorry, big fat fail newbie. Markets determine purses in pro boxing. This is about making money. Thanks for playing, please try again.

:good Totally agree. I like Froch but Taylor would pick holes in that defence. Hes been moved along so slowly for a reason. Big fights have recently fallen through vs Inkin and Taylor, but hes 31 and he should have been at this level three years ago. As a result of his competition level he takes liberties he cant afford and has developed a lazy defence and style which will be exposed at the top level.
