What I'm talking about is the 'rivalry' angle. It works for the Ryder Cup. The networks are supposed to advertise and 'create buzz'. I realize they can only do so much, but Taylor vs Froch for the WBC title? I think they are a little too lazy on this one. I think the biggest problem is they over paid Taylor and won't up the budget.

That would be a pay cut for Taylor. Do you even read the thread?

Well, what makes this a little different in my mind at least, is Showtime is placing a bet on Taylor. You would think they would want him to have that belt. Word is he has a three fight deal. Froggy has done his part with the mouth. I'd think this would be easy to hype. I really think they are lazy. Stick to formulas, not do much, collect a pay check, go home.

A paycut for Taylor. I'll be if they had it in the UK it would be an increase for Taylor. I mean, how much of a draw is he anymore in the states. Dibella is full o' sh!t.

Apparently you're like a month late on all your news. No one is trying to sit here and fill you in on whats going on. Dont speak on topics you have no knowledge of.

I absolutely roasted Calzaghe for taking the Roy Jones fight, as did many on here.

Even the idiots who want to make it about the money are too busy looking at the $1.6 million figure and failing at the real math...

Taylor would make his SMALLEST payday IN YEARS if he took Froch's offer to go to the UK.

Froch would make his BIGGEST payday EVER if he took Taylor's offer to come to the US.

Sure Froch's got a belt, and while obviously it means something to us, it isn't going to provide for Taylor's five kids the way an extra $1 million will. A shot at a belt will be there for him pretty much anytime he wants it.

Let's all keep in mind that Froch's last fight before Pascal was a Polish cabdriver. Maybe there would be a little more financial interest in Taylor/Froch if Froch had taken risks and fought quality opposition before lucking himself into a vacant title.

    :good

If Froch doesn't come over to the US, then this fight just is not going to happen.

you're crazy coming up with calzaghe - jones for this - all UK boxing fans would have preferred calzaghe to fight pavlik. only the blind 'nuthugger' fans of calzaghe justifed the jones fight - now if you are in the same category for taylor then fair enough i understand why you are defending him. the rest of us just want to see the WBC champion fight the #1 contender in what would be an intriguing clash of styles. we want this because it would be a good boxing match, because we like boxing. maybe you should spend your time on the dow jones forum.
