That's not the point though is it? The point is that it was the live fight to take.

Besides, Calzaghe is a totally different fighter from Hopkins. How Hopkins wins a fight has nothing to do with Calzaghe.

I've always picked Calzaghe to beat Pavlik by the way...

I'm not the biggest fan of Froch, however, in his defence, he has been pulled out on more times than a two dollar *****! Inkin pulled out of a bout twice. The second time, he was replaced by Berrio, who then pulled out to be replaced by Rubin Wiliams, who pulled out to be replaced by Rybacki, the fourth choice opponent at three days' notice. Edison Miranda was also apparently offered the fight but wanted more notice. Froch is willing to fight anyone, it just doesn't seem to be really happening for him!

Well, the defenders seemed to be posting 100 to 1 then. I remember very few of the UK crowd. Master Calzaghe is the only one I remember showing his disgust.

So we are supposed to believe that Taylor can make more money fighting Allan Green? :huh

My opinion of JT has plummeted.
My opinion of Lou DiBella remains as low as it always has.

If Froch has a punching power then how come he couldn't stop a weak chin of Pascal? Look for those that saying Taylor is ducking Froch are ******ed no offense. But serious Taylor fought fighters that are way better then Froch. This fight ain't happening cause of Lou not Taylor. That's like saying Cotto scared to fight Mayweather at 140 pounds in which arum refuse to put Cotto to face Mayweather back in 2005. I understand what Lou is doing cause many won't agree but really would Taylor actually get a decision win in england?

If he wins the fight (and wins it clearly, I don't mean one which could go either way) then yeah, I'm pretty sure he would. Glen Johnson, Tim Bradley, Wilie Jorrin (a disgraceful robbery) and a fair few others have got decisions over British fighters on our soil.

There's a risk that in a close one the judges may favour the home fighter, but that's the same anywhere. It would be the same risk for Froch if he went to the States. As the challenger, Taylor's attitude should really be that he needs to do what he needs to do to get the title and if that means going to the UK then so what, he'll put it beyond any doubt.

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be his attitude. Taylor seems to only want every fight to be totally on his terms. It was the same when he pulled out of the Eastman fight because he'd have to get his passport out and come fight over here. Right now, all the champs at 168 are based overseas so unless he's prepared to either moderate his wage demands or get that passport out, there's a danger that Taylor's career is going to peter out into a string of irrelevant domestic level bouts! Meanwhile, the real fighters can get on with the real fighting!

Never knew that Taylor ducked Eastman as well..

So - that's Eastman, Calzaghe and Froch so far. Is the weather over here too cold or something?

It shouldn't be a problem - as Froch has stated that he'll fight Taylor in the States. Repeatedly. So, Dibella doesn't actually have to worry about the credit crunch/hometown advantage/global warming etc etc.

He should be more worried about his fighters reputation or (god forbid) the prestige of holding a world title. You can't wrap him up in cotton wool forever, he has to step up ONE day. I think most fighters would take $1.6 dollars and the WBC title (if Froch is as bad as some seem to think he is, it should be easy money).

Quite frankly I don't believe it. Kessler asked for about half of that to fight Miranda before he pulled out at the last moment. The fans are more familiar with both Miranda and Kessler than Allan Green. There is no chance Taylor is getting more than 1.6 mil to fight Green. The fact is Taylor's manager doesn't believe that he can beat Froch. That is why they are ducking the title fight.
