Nice find! Jones never ducked anyone, they were the ones that wanted no part of him.

    Neither man ducked ffs.

A man goes after what he's worth. You not get that concept yet?

All Joe is saying I want a good cut, not 20-30% like these other guys you've been fighting.

Joe should have been stateside pushing for a fight.
    But that's another argument........

Exactly. No one should use Roy as an example for another man ducking quality fighters.

No chance in hell. I remember Slappy from back then, he was fighting jokes and talking **** about fighting Jones. I think he even took a trip to America that Sky filmed and claimed he wanted to be a big name in America - it took him another 7 years to even fight there. Slappy was all talk and no action, until his biggest threats hit 40 years old...

Those big right hands from Dariusz Michalczewski would have smashed Roy Jones to bits in my opinion. Basically, American fighters have been hyped up. DM was the linear champ, Jones picked up the cast offs. Thats why no hyped ex Rocky star or old ex con can be called the light heavyweight champion.

    Some examples:-

Don Curry? Lost to Lloyd Honeygun
Jermain Taylor? Lost to Carl Froch
    Roy Jones? Lost to Calzaghe
    Bernard Hopkins? Lost to Calzaghe
Tyson, Holyfield Lost to Lennox Lewis

How many of the best "Undisputed" or next "great things" from the wonderful USA have lost "at home" to British fighters.

The facts are there to see. I could'nt give a shite if Roy Jones in his prime would have beaten Calzaghe. He simply lost later on, when both were around the same age. Its not as if Calzaghe was 23 and Jones 40!

Also, why do boxers who got locked up for bad crimes get so much good press?? An American thing I guess.

I'm sure we will get the same crap if Haye wins the title from Klitschko in June.

Hopkins and Mosley. Golden Boy! lol

Until recently Undisputed 168lbs and 200lbs and the top guy at 140lbs came from the UK.

America has nothing..... no one at heavyweight. Apart from old hats, Hopkins, Mosley, De La Hoya, Mayweather. When they are gone you are sunk!

    Pavlik would lose to Abraham.
You get lots of Mexicans and other foreigners fighting in the states, they are not American.

    11-1 yes.

I agree, Americans are 11-1 in negative equity and probably swine flu over the UK. And probably 11-1 in waist size.

    It must really hurt

    :deal :good

What was he expecting? He would have never got a huge payday cos no-one in the US knew who the **** he was.

Jones and Hopkins 7 years earlier, and this so called Legend is no more.
