No I'm not Popkins, you are. :deal

This thread claims to have "proof", yet there is nothing even close to "proof" within it.

    A stupid, agenda-driven thread from a stupid, agenda-driven poster.

If Froch was at this stage of his career when Calzaghe was on top then this fight could have happened. Since froch was not worth Calzaghe fighting at that time there is no need for such a thread. If anything, Calzaghe chose not to fight froch (like any rational person would). Looking at risk/reward, there was little risk and smaller reward at that stage in thier careers. Even out of boxing for years now, I think JC would easily whip Froch in a one sided 12 round slapathon.

Look at the end of the day I'm just putting it out there because it's the truth. Why would Frank ****** maintain this AFTER Calzaghe sued him for about 1.8 mil, left his promotional services and retired. I even remember ****** saying they wanted Froch as the opponent before Bika had been anounced as an opponent on Talk Sport. Froch had struggled with guys like Adamu, was seen as an easy fight at the time and was a slightly bigger name than Bika since he was from the UK.
As for people saying was Froch Calzaghe's mandory at one point, yes he was but Calzaghe-Hopkins was already lined up for Calzaghe as long as he got past Kessler.

Calzaghe if anything avoided Froch, because there was no reason to fight Froch at that point in time.

Froch was new to the scene, was starting to build his name but ultimately wouldn't offer Calzaghe anything in terms of a good pay day or anything in terms of credibility in the American market. Ironically, he was better off fighting Manfredo than Froch.

Bodysnatcher - Why do you think I chose a statement by Frank from 2009? Calzaghe had split from Frank in mid 2008 over money, promoted himself against and Jones in and filed a law suit against Frank in late 2008 and succesfuly won just under 2 mil from him by early 2009.

Just quoting that actually so you can't later edit it. Calzaghe retired December 2008 after he beat Jones remember. A fight which was promoted by Calzaghe/Square Ring Promotions.

Putting a young fighter with <20 fights in with Joe isn't great business sense.

Sorta like David Reid going in with Trinidad, only Joe wouldn't have stopped Froch.

Am I the only one that finds it amusing and ironic that Frank's last name is asterisked out like it's a curse word?
