it was a poor stoppage but McCloskey could of had 4000 rounds and not beat Amir Khan. If you think McCloskey had a chance after watching those 6 rounds your deluding yourself.

He didn't quit. The doctor wanted the fight stopped.

I'm only going off the memory of just one viewing, but initially, it didn't appear as though Paul reacted too well when asked about the cut. Blood was oozing down his face, and he didn't look good. It was only when his corner saw the cut, told him it was nothing, kicked up a fuss, which then encouraged him to do the same. So it wasn't that unreasonable for Khan and Roach to think McCloskey was really bothered by cut.

But with that said, the referee really should have allowed him a couple of minutes, and then permit him to continue. This call really does smudge Khan's victory, and gives the McCloskey supporters something to cling on and protest about.

If you think Paul McCloskeys plan was to out point Khan your deluding yourself.

He was planning to survive until the later rounds and then knock him out, it was his only option against a fighter like khan and he was robbed of the opportunity (Not the victory) by the doctor and ref....

mate nobody wants to see that fight again, It was boring because paul didnt do jack, McCLoskey needs to beat someone from the top 10 to be back in contention for a title shot.

We have all wasted too much time on McCLoskey.

Noone wants to see a rematch. Paul was more concerned about sitting back, ducking and weaving away from shots, than to actually fight back.

It was akin to the Bradley-Alexander fight, but Khan making it a little more entertaining.

S a boxing fan, how can you not understand that he had tactics?

This is getting ******ed in here. He wasn't given the opportunity to fight and thats it.

I use to like Khan too, but he came across as a big dick afterwards. I guarantee he gets smashed sooner or later. if McCloskey made him look that **** whilst doing nothing himself, how is he going to fair against a Bradley or maywetaher...

Think your wrong there mate. Most thoghts , before the fight ,were if paul could get him into the later rounds ,then maybe he had a chance. He was defo frustrating Khan before the stoppage.

there no doubt at the moment. if mclcokey wants the rematch he needs to go out and do some big things.

his performance tonight was pathetic. he shows to much respect to a fighter and proves he is not a world level fighter.

i thought that before the fight but after the 6 rounds we had seen enough to know the outcome. Khan is one of the fittest fighters in world boxing. he was never troubled and the pace was only going to go up.

i never said that was his plan. he would have never KO'd Khan in the later rounds. when have we seen Khan get tired before??

if that was his plan it wouldnt have worked. i would expect better from breen.
