Freddie Roach also said he would stop him in four, If Freddie Roach said his arse tastes better than your birds ***** would you eat that instead you moron!
McCloskey has no heart, the big stage got to him mentally and now he's trying to deny it. Blew his chance, but got paid handsomely for it. No sympathy.
I thought he was happy for the fight to be stopped. He looked dejected as he hadnt had much success landing on khan and didnt make a fuss at all or indicate he wanted it. he said he thought the cut was bad himself and i think when the doc was checking it he went with the flow and basically quit easily ....if he had made a fuss and said he wanted to fight it would have looked much better for him, but he just stood about like a passenger without a cause. It was only when Barry Hearn was kicking off McCloskey started to make a fuss. What an embarassing display by him for his fans. He didnt act like a warrior at any stage of the fight
So what if I am. All this,"he didn't look like he wanted it" stuff is pure nonsense. He doesn't have to look like anything. He doesn't have to act like anything. The ref had stopped the fight. McCloskey had every reason to suspect the ref and doctor were doing the right thing. He had the worst view of anyone. Its pure revisionism to suggest anything other than the ref made an absolute mess of it.
he was probably expecting McCloskey to be in range at least once not stand on the outside like a *****.
 So now McCloskey should have fought how Freddie roach wanted him to? Poor Timothy Bradley will have to fight with one arm behind his back too?
you my friend are an idiot... you don't "use a rope a dope" when your holding the centre of the ring. the 1 punch suggestion is complete and utter crap and he slipped in round 4, even the biased commentators on prime time acknowledge it was a slip. khan was the aggresor and khan was ahead on points, everyone with half a brain realised before the fight that khan would be aggresive and mccloseky would be the ellusive boxer. mccloskey's plan was to survive the early rounds and in fairness he survived them very well, better than I even expected him to do, he wasn't hurt and had plenty of gas left in the tank. unfortunatley he never got the opportunity to go for a stoppage in the late rounds. my honest opinion is that he probably wouldn't have got the stoppage, khan probably would have won on points. mccloskey would have had to have gone for it after rounds 8 or 9 and we were all robbed of seeing how it would have materialised. it was a world title fight, there was an awful lot at stake and the fight should not have been stopped, we all know that, the blood wasn't effecting his vision at all
you obviously don't have sufficient knowledge or interest in the sport to appreciate a defensive and ellusive style. maybe you have no respect or admiration for sitting down and watching impressive head movement, ducking and shoulder rolls... If thats the case then your likely to be disappointed with Saturday nights fight. A lot of the posters on here obviously like to watch big hitters and brawlers with great chins, that is understandable, it's exciting to watch and hence fighters like Benn are so revered on the Brit forum. There is another aspect to boxing and it was on display on Saturday night, it was all about judging distance, planting your right foot out in front of your opponent and trying to counter punch on the inside. naturally, i would have loved to have seen more countering from mccloskey but we was clever enough to have respect for a man with such fast hands and he remained calm and cool and didn't deviate from the game plan. unfortunatley we'll never know how it would have panned out. No doubt people will come on here and call me deluded and biased, for the record I'm not..
do you want me to post links to videos of pernell whitacker and floyd mayweather slipping shots in the pocket....theres a major difference between that and what McCloskey was doing. I was a big fan of McCloskey before the fight and gave him a shot at winning. I thought it was a 75-25 fight which is more generous than most. And I also apprectiate defensive skills more than allot of posters on here. Anyone can not get hit when there standing out of range and not even attempting to hit counters. I don't for one minute think McCloskey quit but his gameplan was nieve and theres nothing posative you can take from his performance.
thats a fair call... as a fan there it was dissapointing for Paul, but does nobody think the real story was how ****, amateurish, mistake ridden effort Khan put in? I couldnt believe it, jumping in, throwings 3/4 punch arm punch combos and being completely square on - Paul SHOULD have taken advantage but it is what it is. He doesnt have a chance against the proper elite
Oh Sorry, your right team McCloskey should of revolved their game plan around fighting to Amirs strengths, yeah that makes sense..... Do you read your own messages before you post them? I would advise doing so in the future....
