to be fair, Tyson landed some brutal elbows in his time, its difficult to justify what he did in that fight. He could have done something else other than bite the guys ear off lets be honest, low blows, elbows even butting Holyfeld back. It just looked like Mike was getting the rough end of the bullying tactics which he wasnt used to, it spooked him, he was probably outraged Holyfield had the ***** to do that to him.
these are fighters past their prime, they are going to get any edge they can. I dont like that Holyfield butted the way he did but Tyson was very disappointing that night, i was never pumped for a fight more than that one. I am only just coming round to forgiving Tyson for it lol. I am a believer than Tyson could have Taken Holy in 91 but he didn't stand a chance if he was anything less than that form. Holyfield was bizarrely confident for these fights, it was like he was invulnerable to anything Mike did, I wouldn't rule out some extra help to be honest....

It's crazy how easy it was to get away with fouls. Tyson literally had to bite someones ear off before the ref paused the fight.

An entire stadium packed with people watching two men fight in a ring, and yet you could still hide things like a knee to the groin.

Beauty of slow motion replays. What I am shocked about is how no one bothered to ****yze the videos in detail and take action against holyfield. The result of the second fight should have been declared a no contest.

    Yawn.

Watch the whole fight in slow motion, watch lots of them, they will look like foul kung-fu. The problem is that it is happening really fast and they are not sitting on the couch with a snack. If you are agressive and trying to get inside you lead with your head. It's not fouling. It's being agressive.

Exactly. I mean, this is professional heavyweight boxing at the highest level. People acting all shocked by some sneaky fouls or rough stuff are either naive, new to the sport, or have an agenda against a particular fighter.

Exactly. Holyfield was reckless with his head because his style often dictated so, you either lead with the head or get on the wrong end of the headbutt. Tyson had the exact same philosophy, because his style was even more aggressive. Tyson butted his entire career too. The difference in this fight was that Tyson met someone who was more seasoned and skilled at it !
The other difference is that he ended up whining about it loads after the 2nd fight when he quit/bit.

There is a difference bw 1-2 head butts in a fight and 40 plus. Holyfield should have been disqualified and the result of the bout should have been declared a NC.

It's a blurry line between cheating and doing whatever possible to win.

I've found this whole thread laughable really. Trying to paint Tyson as an innocent victim, and holyfield the dirty fighter is comical

The video does not lie. Whatever holyfield did in the Tyson fight alone is far greater than whatever Tyson did in his whole career.

So can we get this straight? It isn't fouling in general your bothered about, it is simply the amount of them that seems to upset you, unless of course it is Tyson who committed them. Ooooh Kaaaay.:rofl:rofl

20-40 head butts per fight is serious. Tyson never in his committed these many fouls.

This is the truth. Show me a video of Tyson committing 20-40 headbutts, knees, low blows in a fight and then talk.

For now there is clear cut video evidence against holyfield on this which is why his results against Tyson should immediately be suspended.
