You guys who say you have never heard of Pianeta obviously do not follow Heavyweight boxing. It's either that, or you are lying.

He's not one of the top guys, but Boxrec (yes I know it's a computer program that does the ranking) has him at #14. So you're supposedly a fan of heavyweight boxing and you don't ever browse the Boxrec rankings, research fighters, etc...

My like for boxing is not based on statistics or looking at boxrec. I like a good fight and the last one I seen at HW ended Tko6.

I have NEVER been on boxrec - not once. Wlad fights nameless bums as far as most of the world are concerned and is just a record padding greedy douche

Boxrec isn't just about their computer rankings, they list full records with judges scoring, location, etc... upcoming fights, articles, and if you are into local area boxing they list the schedule for those fights as well. Maybe I'm wrong here, but I'd guess that 99% of boxing fans who are more than casual fans have visited BoxRec.

Wlad has cleared out the top ten, and ruled over the last...well it's almost been a DECADE now. To say he fights "nameless bums" and is "record padding", that's just illogical hatred. Wlad's record does not reflect that at all. Maybe if you visited BoxRec, you could see that.

There are 17 weight divisions, do you think everyone has the time to research top 20 no marks in every division? HW is one of the worst divisions right now anyway, anyone with any sense would be following other divisions more closely.

It's not just beating 3 opponents.
Wlad has fought and beat the top contenders for years now.

Look at the rankings of these fighters when they faced Wladimir:
Haye
Bryd x2
Brock
Peter
Ibragimov
Chagaev
Thompson x2

Now many of the top 10 are either busy with other fights, or refuse to face Wladimir...it is what it is.

 

also there is just not enough time to face all contenders! but dont cry povetkin, fury (if he comes that far) and pulev will get theire beating from wladimir when the time is right!

 

sorry guys but this thread seems pretty gay. Wlad was trying to justify fighting this guy by saying he beat cancer, hasnt beaten any very good fighters, but he has beaten cancer (so he must be worthy). ah . . . no, this guy is a nobody . . . period. The whole division are a bunch of bums so its pretty bad that you have justify fighting anyone . . . just shows you how far things have fallen. Mormeck almost seems like a decent matchup compared to this guy
