"So for me to be doing this and to be at the level I’m doing it at, I’m amazing! I feel like I’m the best fighter who ever lived to some degree. Muhammad Ali didn’t have asthma. Ray Robinson didn’t have asthma. Manny Pacquiao doesn’t have asthma. Floyd Mayweather doesn’t have asthma. Here I am, heavyweight champion of the world two times about to be three" -Shannon Briggs

He is right, Muhammad Ali didnt have asthma. He won back the title from Leon Spinks with Early Onset PARKINSONS!

He really need to put down the inhaler and educate about what it is to be a great fighter. Beating Dicky Ryan doesnt make you a great fighter. Beating liakovich doesnt make you a great fighter..and losing to Jameel McCline and Serdick Fields doesnt make you a great fighter. Congratulations Shannon Briggs, you are the most dillusional asthmatic in boxing.

You need to be KTFO for confusing Michael and Leon.

Shannon is starting to **** me off with all this asthma ****.

Everybody get's it Shannon, you've got asthma.

Sounds like the early onset of an excuse to me.

God forbid this guy actually wins. He will never shut up, about anything. Asthma being the least of it!

This is like the age thing with Hopkins. Yeah, most fighters age badly and asthma usually cripples fighters, but it obviously doesn't affect them in the same way. It doesn't make them ****ing super heroes. They've just managed to deal with it better.

    Asthma is no joke.
Not being able to breathe is a horrific feeling.

its not that asthma isnt a real disease, it just that as an athlete, it doesnt give you any kind of crutch or make you more special or better for dealing with it. EVERY fighter that loses a fight is a disadvantage whether it be height, skill, mentality, personality disorder, it doesnt matter. Yeah, sure, it means more sentimentally, or even shows a fighers character to overcome certain adversities, but EVERY fighter has overcome something. We dont need to be reminded every time out though. I guess Paulie is the greatest light welterweight ever because he did it with chronic hand problems. It an incredibly stupid and arrogant non-argument.

Ad for the record, I have asthma, and box. But thats the first time ive mentioned it and the last. Any ailment only defines you, if you allow it to.

Sure but had that actually occured to him at this level of severity he would have been KO'd right there in the same round by any pro heavyweight. Obviously he could not fight back at all if he had a severe asthma attack in the ring.

He should stop talking about his asthma all the time and just fight! He could and would probably use the same **** as an excuse if he loose! and honestly that would be patetic. I think everyone knows he have asthma by now.. leave it that way!
