I do agree with you though, his chin went downhilll with his speed and reflexes.... Though he was not in the best shape of his LHW carrer in the second Tarver fight no way, anyone should be able to see that.

The numbers mean nothing. Use your eyes. Roy clearly puts on a substantial amount of muscle and clearly looks drained and performs like a different fighter.

One reason he looked slower is because he was facing relatively quicker fighters. You go from fighting Ruiz to Tarver you are going to look slower.

The weight loss issue for Roy is simply a matter of steroids. It doesn't take some grand trainer to get him to lose muscle. He just stops taking the roids or switch the type he's taking and he will lose weight. Roy's joints are tiny and its obvious he's not going to hold a lot of mass naturally. If anything the weight loss is simply returning him to his more natural state as opposed to an example of physical duress.

Exactly. Just look at the heavyweight Jones Jr. He was huge and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the cut down in weight back to 175 affected him.

Tarver is a good fighter, underrated but not much better than the fighters that Jones was consistently taking to school, Hall, Hill, Woods, Gonzalez, Harmon, Harding etc. Stylistically though I'd say he matches up better against Jones than those other guys.

The Tarver I was one if Jones' better win in a weakened state.

How does that video prove Jones weighed 200 pounds?? One thing is sure is that was Jones' last good fight. He's been diminished since then, probably accelerated by the drastic weight loss for the 1st Tarver fight. He should have retired after he beat Ruiz or stayed at heavyweight. Now he's mucking through ordinary fighters on a path that leads no where good. :smoke :dead

    Where is the weigh in?
Is this just pushing the argument he was weight drained gainst Tarver...
was he weight drained the second fight too then?
Jones had **** punch resistance, I wouldnt even say chin because he got knocked out by punches to the earlobe:lol:

Strange his punch resistance only told after the Ruiz fight.Wonder what happened to his punch resistance before that fight.. I dont know why you guys make such lame excuses and cling to such whack job stories. Anyone with half a brain cell knows that cutting 25lbs to make weight bearing in mind Jones consititution is a dam good one would be detrimental on his ring performance.Guess most of you dont even work out to even know..

Roy had plenty of time to adjust to going back to 175 it is just an excuse. Why did he not stay at Heavyweight and fight some of the smaller guys like Chris Byrd? Because his chin is terrible and he knew this and he would have got KOed.

Why did Roy stay at 175 if it was so hard and he would be weight drained? Why is Roy fighting now at 170 against Tito if it is so hard? Roy is full of excuses because he has a Glass Jaw end of story.

John Ruiz is terrible. How would Glass Jaw Roy have looked against any of the other beltholders at the time? He handpicked John Ruiz. Ruiz also lost to James Toney another former Middleweight. Ruiz was a joke.

Yeah, Jones did avoid some guys, even in his prime. Still, he was an incredible specimen when he reigned at 168. Once he moved up, he began looking more human and now he's quite vulnerable.

he has looked bad since Tarver II because now he is afraid to have his Glass Jaw punched. If "weight drain" is an issue, why fight Tito at 170? It is just a bunch of excuses by Jones and his nuthuggers to cover up the fact his chin is terrible.
