Vitali clearly won rounds one and two, and after round two Vitali's face was fine. In round three Lewis started rubbing his dreadlocked head into the left side of Vitali's face and continued doing so all night long. Lewis should have been warned and then disqualified, but the so-called referee, Lou Moret, might as well not have been there.

In round five Lewis was blatantly holding and hitting Vitali, and George Foreman and the other announcer commented upon it and said that the referee wasn't doing his job, and the ******* of a ref just ignored that too. You can see that here:

It was an ugly fight where both fighters didn't look good. Both fighters looked tired after about 2 rounds and there was so much holding. I don't understand people making so much out of this fight. At the end of the day, Vitali got cut by legal punches and therefore it's Lewis TKO6 Vitali. If ever a fight had to be stopped on cuts, it was this one. No big deal really. I would have wanted to see a rematch though.

And Lewis was so there for the taking that evening but Vitali just blew it. Vitali SHOULD have won this, but he simply blew it. You can clearly see that he was too nervous and therefore he tired after some rounds. There was none of that mental strength that he is known for that night. Lewis was out of shape and slow, but he kept his nerves and that's why he managed to hang in there and get that win

It was a good classic heavyweight fight. One was at the very end of his career, while the other was a prime heavyweight who today is dominating. I don't think the kilts get the dues, but like it or not, the cut was caused by a punch, so a TKO won was given in favour of Lewis, which was the correct result. Vitali started quickly, but lewis was figuring him at by the 5th. Let it ****ing go.

It was only Lewis who was holding - and HOLDING AND HITTING TOO!

Even if Vitali was initially cut by Lewis' punch at the beginning of round three, Lewis spent the whole rest of the fight rubbing his dreadlocked head in it to try to open it up.

Both Klitschkos have become far better since that time period - but on the other hand this fight sent Lewis into retirement.

George Foreman was the only honest tv announcer I can remember. He was the only one who would talk about incompetant and crooked refs and judges, like the so-called ref in this fight who let Lewis continuously hold and hold and hit and rub his head into Vitali's face.

"Sure Only Lewis was Holding ..."

Even in your carefully selected little clip there, giggles, the one on the top, Lewis was holding and hitting!

Lewis was fighting as dirty as he could. If he fought clean he had no chance.

Both where training for a fight on the same card. Lewis for Kirk Johnson. Vitali for Cedric Boswell. Johnson got injured, and Vitali stepped in.

I can't believe people are still talking about this fight!

Lewis won, fair and square. The only problem I and any other rational boxing fan should have is that there was no rematch. That wasn't the proper way to go out lennox....
