Yeah an atg fighter coming back in a weak era and managing to beat one of the weakest champions in the era. How many top contenders of the day did foreman beat :rofl

You are so blinded by your love of certain things you can only see one point of view, but thats always been the case in pretty much everything you have ever posted on esb.

So you're saying 51 knockouts in 59 wins is something to frown upon?

How many top contenders of today's era has Holyfield beat? Are you even trying to make sense anymore?

You just tried to trash on today's era saying that Holyfield can still be competitive with this era... which by itself is completely untrue. Only competitive fight that Holyfield has been in against top competition in YEARS that I can think of was against Valuev, and he lost. Yet, I point out that Foreman came back and actually won the Heavyweight Championship of the world during the 90's, which haters like you always consider a "great era".... and then you downplay it by saying that he beat one of the weakest champs of that era. You make absolutely no sense at all.

No im saying not knocking out that posed no threat and was just a punching bag for most of the fight isn't really that impressive.
Im saying only throwing a variety of 3 shots in the entire fight although effective to some extent isn't great boxing.
Im saying its alot easier to knockout 51 of 59 when the 51 guys have been average in the context of heavyweight history.

Sounds like you're trying awfully hard to find things to be critical of.

At the end of the day, it was a vintage performance from Wlad. He only lost about 10 seconds of any round in the fight. Of course Wach isn't a world beater, but so what? Who's out there that's eager to face Wlad?

I thought he performed about as well as could be expected. Barring the punch that shook him a bit at the end of round 5, it was a near flawless performance.

Not a hater at all, i like wlad as a guy and as mentioned before think he is the best heavyweight since Lewis, however just because he is the best of a weak era doesn't mean i have to lavish praise on him for anything.
He does what he has to do, and fights in the perfect style to make up for his weak chin and take advantage of his great physical tools.

In all honesty, this is the best offensively Wlad has looked in nearly a decade. Awesome stamina, good footwork, very crisp accurate jabs and straight rights. Part of me thought Wlad may punch himself out, but he didn't.

I give Wlad some props for the way he fought tonite, he looked like a complete fighter. Wach proved to have one hell of a chin, what a tough SOB.

Acknowledging the fact that he's put together one of the most dominant runs in history is just giving credit where it's due. There have been other weak eras. And sometimes a really dominant champ can make an era look a little weaker than it really is....

I've never been much of a fan because of his style, but anyone that knows boxing can see that Vlad is one the greatest of all time. He has been kicking the hell out of everyone since 04'. He's been champion now for 6 years, and I'd say that his competition is wayyyyyy better than most give him credit for. I don't remember anyone else fighting such a diverse group of sizes and styles with even some lefties mixed in. I'd say that Vlad has earned the ATG list only reserved for long reigning/ dominant champions like Ali, Holmes, Louis and Lewis. He's getting very close to cracking the top 5 all time. Most here don't want to except it, but if he can put together a good stretch against these young giants and not end up with a string of career ending losses he will move in to the #1 position of a lot of common sense list.

But Wlad is not "one of the greatest of all time". Vitali and Wlad are clearly THE greatest heavyweights of all time.
