Wlad doesn't seem like a guy that fakes injuries. Maybe Chef knows more about this?

If Wlad was faking the injury then the Doctor quoted in the media articles from the University Clinic in Germany was a liar and possibly paid off. Not impossible, I just think it's unlikely.

The Doc was quoted as saying the ripped tissue didn't require surgery, just pain killers and 6 weeks of rest from sparring. Unfortunately, he didn't comment on golfing.

Come on man, it was fabricated.

You dont play golf 10 days after suffering a 2 inch tear in your abdominal muscle. With the twisting involved in golf, just no.

    Wake up

golf you use all your abdominal muscles when you coil round so there would be no chance he had that injury if he was out swinging a golf club about. Maybe he thought going to the golf club with facial injurys would be unapropriate so chose the golf instead.

What is he bound to say? "Yep, Klitschko ducked Chisora"? Of course he's goign to defend Wlad so what's the point in asking him? He'll defend Wlad, like always, rightly or wrongly, and then the legions of absolutely biased Wlad fans will constantly quote him, as supposed proof.

The Wlad fans are incredibly quiet though. Anyone want to admit Wlad avoided the Chisora fight?

Chisora's side received medical reports/pics, etc... to back up the injury.

So I don't think Wlad was faking an injury. Come on now, if he was going to fake an injury, why do it AFTER the open workout, just a couple days before the fight. He had all training camp to do so (if he was going to).

The ticket sales, the other fighters on the card (some of which are Wlad's sparring partners), I just don't believe all of that was thrown away to fake an injury ( and against Chisora of all fighters).

As for golfing....you've got one side of your body that has a lot more movement during the swings. Perhaps the injury was on the side that has less movement.

And how long would it take for something like a 3.7cm (1.45 inches) injury to heal enough before he could swing? It's been 2-weeks.
I'm sure there are different levels of tears too...Wladimir's injury couldn't have been a bad tear, as the doctor said it only needed rest and painkillers,
    not surgery.

Just think about it: If it was faked, you wouldn't go out playing golf with a TV crew, that's for sure. Because you'd want to keep up
    the appearance of an injury.

The only way you would feel comfortable playing golf with a TV crew, is if of course the injury was legit, but
has healed enough to allow a round of golf.

Theres no way he could play golf with them injurys it would be the worst sport you could play. You coil round with your stomach muscles which would make the injury even worse. Sorry this is bollocks.:think

You're not a doctor, and the injury isn't to his stomach..it's between his abs and back.

I had surgery, they cut me open, fed a box about the same size as a deck of cards underneath the skin, and fed two wires into my heart.
I was able to do what I wanted as far as movement goes after 2-weeks.

So do I believe Wlad can be well enough from a minor tear (less than 1.5 inches) that required no surgery, to play golf
    in 2-weeks. Yes, absolutely.

As for the reason why he pulled out late, maybe he was expecting to get inside Chisora's head? I don't know, honestly. I can't tell you why a fighter would make up an injury to avoid fighting an obviously lesser opponent.

Yes, there are medical reports but they are almost certainly false. You just couldn't play golf with an injury like that, two weeks later. Apart from the fact the injury needs to heal (And two inches of muscle damage takes a long time to recover), you also need to wait a long time before you can do rigorous activity too. If you want to take the stance it had healed, then you must surely think it took 7 days to fully heal and then a further 7 days of rest? So you think almost 2 inches of muscle damage can recover within 7 days?

    No chance.

He was advised to do nothing for up to 6 weeks and after 2, he's been playing golf. That's absolute bull****, no matter what spin you want to put on it.

The funny thing is though, it wasn't long ago since the Klitschko fans were talking about how serious the injury was and why he should have pulled out! And now I'm sure we are going to hear lots of posts about how it was such an insignificant injury that he could play golf 2 weeks later.

The fact is, the injury was either severe enough to put him out of the fight. In which case, he would need more than 2 weeks rest to recover. Or the other alternative, is that he could have gone ahead with the fight, if the injury was so insignificant that he could play golf two weeks later.

EDIT: Just on the golf swing, Wlad is right handed which means he uses the left side of his stomach when he brings the club down for the powerful swing before you hit the ball. He would need those muscles. Stomach muscles, regardless of left or right handed, are key in either bringing the club up or down. You can't play golf with a stomach tear.
