I hope you don't think I was over-critical of your OP cookie, it's just I knew as soon as I read the Title it would be troll central in here.

Hopefully we get a few more posts about US and UK Boxing in general than the more prevalent verbal sparring coming from each side of the pond we are seeing which have no Boxing substance whatsoever.

I found it amazing for example that the PPV figures for the Mayweather/Hatton bout weren't very lopsided in favour of Mayweather's US sales, for me, it represented a shift in the power balance and signified to World Boxing that the Brits have massive potential there. It's very heartening as a British fight-fan, but on the flip-side it is a bad sign when the USA as vast as it is cannot eclipse UK PPV sales when their best fighter for years, arguably many, many years is headlining.

    Food for thought IMO.

No chance boxing is 5th most popular sport in Britain. Most people only have interest in the big Sky promotions, with BBC and ITV ignoring the sport. I know hardly anyone who actually participates in the sport. Not sure exactly where it ranks, but i'd definately put it behind these nine:

    Football
    Cricket
    Rugby Union
    Horse Racing
    Tennis
    F1
    Golf
    Athletics
    Rugby League

Athletics, Cycling and Snooker more popular than golf in the UK you say? Wow, okay! I don't think the average British person could name someone in current athletics or cycling (apart from Chris Hoy).

Golf is ahead of boxing slightly and should be fifth placed on that list. You could argue that rugby union/league is ahead of cricket aswell.
