Yes I was rooting for Marquez but I have to appriciete Bradley's boxing skills and his ability to execute a good game plan. I think Bradley would beat Pac in rematch. Pac is on a downway. He may beat Rios, maybe stop him but once again Rios is a C+ level fighter. So its irrelevant how good will Pac look against Rios. IMO Floyd - Bradley would be an interesting match in terms of styles. I'd like to see how Floyd would adjust and neutralise Bradley's main weapons and how Floyd would use his footwork and his boxing angles against Bradley. :think
:yep - after a so bad performance (the punishment he took) against Provo I thought Bradley will not be the same fighter but the dude showed that he has a strong mental and he did very well against an experienced&smart top level counter puncher like JMM. :good
How can you not? He got the win, took minimal damage, and did what he needed to do. I think you are confusing boxing well for boxing in a fan friendly style, as many do. I really cant fault his game plan. He did get tired or take his foot off the gas later on, but he did use a hell of a lot of footwork throughout the fight so its got to be expected. Props to Bradley even though the fight wasn't a very entertaining one.
no doubt Floyd is the superior boxer but at this moment I think Floyd vs Bradley is a more competitive fight than Floyd vs Pac.
i still cant believe how good he looked in there after the beating he took. its like the rusian fight never even happened. guy has the resiliency of evander holyfield.
indeed I'd like to see the rematch between him and Ruslan cuz definitely he has unfinished business with this guy.
I think you are confusing boxing with a fan friendly style, with boxing well. That was not high level boxing. Any boxer at that level can avoid engagement and survive 12 rounds. Shane Mosley vs Pac comes to mind. Its the reason why the aggressor-the guy making the fight gets the nod on close rounds. Who wants to see two guys dancing/staring at each other. That fight mad Oscar vs Tito look like Gatti/Ward. They barely touched each other. Tim has to find the balance between the fighter last night and Tim from his last fight with Provodnkov. Because, that display of boxing last night was awful.
there is nothing cool about taking punishment. tim boxed from the outside and countered marquez counter punches very well. i think your knowlege of the sport is at elementary level. im still surprised people did not see that coming :huh bradley had the better footwork and angles and prove to be a smarter boxer then jmm as well. he had jmm clearly frustrated and confused most the whole fight.
Elemntary, really. How many fights have you had. How many Amateur? How many Pro? Like I said there is a reason you give the nod to the aggressor, someone has to make the fight. Sure, Marquez could have done a better job cutting to ring off, But Tim wasn't landing ****. With so little, in the form of effective aggression, from either guy, you have to give the nod to the guy making the fight and that guy was Marquez. Even someone at an elementary level understands that Tim didn't do himself any favors, last night. I did not come away from that feeling Bradley is superior to Marquez. And, I definetly did not come away thinking that Bradley boxed well.
He is really good when he follows the game plan and boxes. Lesson learned what not to do in provodnikov fight.
That's is as informative as saying" Slippery when Wet" or "Dark when Night". Bradley boxed well against Lamont Peterson. That display against Marquez was horrible. Sure, he doesn't want to take punishment but failing to engage at that level is not going to cut it. And, its not going to be labeled good boxing, any more than Wlad's last fight. And, I have answered those question before on this forum. Not to hard to find if you are that interested.
