As a neutral fan watching a great fight on Saturday I was really impressed by the performance from Carl Froch. I went away thinking that Lucian Bute was a class act and came across as a true gentleman of the sport. Not only did he applaud carl froch at the result he made no excuses for it. I saw pics of his toe and it looked nasty and he didnt bring it up once unlike David Haye. He took a bad beating and I for one applaud him for coming to Nottingham for the fight when he could have stayed in Canada and makes lots of money from his loyal fan base. Where does he go from here who knows but good luck Lucian.
Yeah, that toe was sickening.....but yeah, if he wasnt right for the fight, he wouldnt have fought.:nono His biggest injury occured mentally when he threw away all his abilities and thought he could be a banger at banging.:huh:huh:huh
I do give him props for the balls to go to England. However, I don't give him props for being knocked out and being nice about it.
Good post but the toe wasnt in any way a factor in this fight. It was healed for a couple of weeks and he just lost a couple of days of training. If Froch won a SD or close UD, you might have a case, but not this.
In this boxing world with every fighter loosing finding excuses or trying to tell us that it was close (even Froch is doing it with the Ward fight), I think it's refreshing to see Bute acting like that. But I understand what you mean and yes, Bute failed, but you know what? He knows it and he doesnt need anybody to tell him that. I mean in real life some people have problem to say "welcome", "thanks" and "I'm sorry"... Hell, on this forum a lot of people dont have any respect for others and for the fighters who compete in the sports they are suppose to love.
Now it's just dark and read-ish light around him right now. Not hiding but Shadowed, and a face that reflects pain and disappointment. Probably a bit like Cotto felt after the first Margarito fight.
