You don't need to pat him on the back, but we acknowledge when he "ducks" to put it mildy, so...let's acknowledge when he finally steps up to a challenge.

Must people give him for doing he should be doing naturally or must people give him props for finally overcoming his fears of endangaring his O to go by facing a very formidable opponent in mosley?

Just like to see people acknowledge that he has indeed taken on a stiff test. He's been the subject of a lot of critiism...for years...he's pretty much ending the drout now by stepping up to Shane Mosley. How long have we waited for him to take on the definitive Welterweight? Too long. Now he has, and I'm grateful for him giving us such a fight. It's true, we shouldn't pat him on the back for doing what is expected of him, but Floyd is a special circumstance.

Have I missed something here? The greatest boxer of all time fighting the number 1 in the division , and then we need to give him props????? If this was any other sport , it would be expected , simple as , dont give him praise , he sets his own bar pretty high , so his level of competition should be equal.

I can see where you are coming from. Tell the truth, I'm really glad that floyd has finally signed the contract. Hope he doesn't come out with some rib injuries again and postpone the fight to some future date because mosley has been inactive for so long now.

Props to the fans, media and mosley for finally cornering Floyd into signing a boxing match. (Damn, can't they make it April?) Floyd is the best boxer in the WW division but this is a fight that hunger and heart can win. I won't be betting on this one.... well depends on the odds.

Well, maybe we should be relieved that floyd is finally taking a risk. Props to him for doing that.

Shane himself, Cotto, Collazo, Margarito, Clottey, Williams and even Judah have fought and mixed it up with the top guys at Welter for years. They have all fought better opponents than Floyd at Welter.

I know you can see my point, one test does not stick Floyd anywhere near these guys in regards to who he has faced at the weight.

I see your point only it's not the point. :huh

Whether we like or not, in today's climate, getting to see arguably the two best fighters in any division fight each-other is a rarity. Made even more rare when it involved Floyd Mayweather Jr, so I don't see why we can't give him a little nod for going after Mosley. That being said, if he pulls any **** like he did with Marquez, I'll turn on him like a jackal.

Props to Schaefer, Ellerbe, and Haymon. They all worked real hard and put together this fight relatively quickly. I know many think it took forever to get done, but it only took two weeks after Berto pulled out of the Mosley fight for the deal to be done and the contracts to be signed. The fighters get props for fighting.

I can see why Mayweather would get props though. He's often painted as a coward who's afraid of his own shaddow. Mosley is often built up to be a monster who wil tear Floyd to shreads. Under those assumptions, it makes sense to give Floyd props for taking on the fight. However, we all know that's just people talking ****. Mayweather will be a solid favorite and most people on this site will pick Floyd.

If he wins does Mosley also fall into the "Baldomir" category and Mayweather isn't considered the #1 welter for it yet again?
