He came out big tonight and made Gonzalez look like garbage. His post fight interview was decent too, although I expect some following interviews to be the old GRJ and talk isht about fighters. Big ups to him, great win.
Yeah, I was hoping he'd win, he's a fighter with lots of talent and it'd have been shame to see it go to waste. And I thought he'd win but that performance was something else, absolute domination.
I liked GRJ's confidence, he never had a single doubt. He stayed in the pocket and knocked him out, after out boxing his guy for three rounds. I was impressed with his heart and toughness against Lomachenko but not much else, I had him pegged as an unskilled guy. As Paulie said in the Loma-GRJ it might not be that GRJ is no good, it's just that Lomachenko is that much better. GRJ is legit.
Gonzalez demolished Mares, so give him some credit. Not an elite, but GRJ deserves credit, and I don't even like him.
true, gotta give the man his props, came out and took johnny out so easily. that punch resistance that used to be borderline poor is now as bad as it could possibly be. the 1st KD was legit tho. the right hook finished the KD but the straight left is what really did the damage. johnny never came close to recovering from that 1st straight left, exactly the types of shots pac is going to need to land immediately to make floyd think about whats coming at him. not sure thats possible tho. but anyways, GRJ made me eat mad crow this evening . even tho i still think he is wicked average as a whole (especially with the talent in that division) he did what he needed to do. good for him, just stay FAR away from the top 3/4/5 fighters around that weight
