Joe Calzaghe must rate highrer than him on the ATG list. Think about it. He looks impressive beating Tarver aged 40+,2 fights later loses to Joe then beats Pavlik only 6 months later. So much for him being over the hill, ancient etc..

It isn`t rocket science here. JC is a master tactician. Those trying to enegrate Calzaghes win over Hopkins because of hs age are the same people today waxing lyrica about BHOPS performance today. You can`t have it both ways.

    Hail Calzaghes greatness.

Hopkins is far past his prime, what he is know is only the shadow of what he could do at his prime. Calzaghe did not beat Hopkins. Calzaghe lost 114-113 for B-Hop would have been the right scorecard.

No I think you`ll find Calzaghe is still 45-0. Eugenia Williams scored it 114-113 for Hopkins watching it on tv just like you. :D

Master Tactician? Buddy the only reason Joe won was because of work rate. Joe would break out with a barrage of slaps and on occasion would land 1 out of 5 and in the process he was dropped. Nards resume is impeccable compared to joes sorry but your thread failed.

Before the Hopkins fight you all said that you would only be satisfied if clazaghe KO's a 42 year old bernard hopkins, now his status as an ATG is dependent on Hopkins.

I don't understand you calzaghe fans, he lost to hopkins but got the decsion because of some shitty judges, one wolly gave calzaghe 9 rounds out of 12. :patsch

You should watch the fight again, because past round 3 it was all Joe, though theres a case for round 10 after Hopkins took his 5 min breather, he was gasping for air like Pavlik was inbetween rounds against Joe, had there been a decent ref, Hopkins was going to fall on one knee and not get back up.

fall on one knee from them slaps, hopkins has been in the ring with felix trinidad who hits far harder than calzaghe. hopkins has been down once in his carreer, and there is no way calzaghe would be able to KO hopkins.

Outside that i feel that Hopkins won vs Calzaghe (go watch the fight with the sound off n see the action in slow motion n Joe just hits gloves n air)

Calzaghe has nowhere near the resume Hopkins has and also has not proven the longevity that Hopkins has.

In other words your thread failed but Joe still has time to catchup.

Doesn´t mean much to me. Or do you think Lewis-Holyfield I was a draw too because their records say so? Like I wrote in another thread, I had it 114-113 for B-Hop but that fight deserved no winner, should have been a no decision like in the old days.

exactly, Bernard's punch out put was seriously low, he clinched more then he threw punches, I thought it was a clear JC victory.

I didn't say KO, but he was on the verge of something more humiliating, out on his feet and submitting. Before Joes brittle hands... a KO probably would have happened, hence why Hopkins pulled out a day after agreeing a fight 7 years ago, and asking double the money.

Calzaghe is the greatest smw ever. He falls short of greatness outside of his division yet but he also isn´t finished yet.
