there's a contingent of idiots on here that would have preferred that Mayweather returned and fought Cory Spinks.

Give me a ****ing break with that ****. Anybody with any business sense here?

what ****ing nonsense is this, the only time floyd fought a smaller guy was hatton but he wasn't that small ala calderon yet these hating clowns make him sound like he was doing it all his career.

I go to other boxing forums and they viewed this as a great fight, mayweather is not the type who uses his size to win lets all remember that

Great point. It's not like Mayweather overwhelms his opponents with his ferocious power, which he now chooses only to use on little guys.

    Hatton isn't even smaller.

    They were equal in size.

Check yourselves haters. To say someone is cherry-picking means that the cherry being picked doesn't have a chance of winning(or a very slight chance). Marquez vs Pacquio was a great match-up, but Marquez vs Mayweather means Floyd is a cherry picker. Which is to say Marquez has a very slight chance of winning. Which implies that Marquez is on Pacquio's level but not on Mayweather's level. You would think clearer with the foot out of your mouth. Just say you want Floyd to lose and leave it at that. To down Marquez means to down Pacquio and it ups Mayweather. CAN YOU GUYS UNDERSTAND THAT. Keep in mind Pacquio is labeled P4P the best in the sport since the absence of Mayweather. Is Pac-man that good or that bad or that famous or is it that you haters are making Maweather bigger than the sport itself.:huh

We can all agree that Shane is past his prime but he poses the biggest threat to Mayweather up to date. That match up is the only intriguing fight that Mayweather can take right now. Maybe a cotto fight but we'll have to see him
get past Clottey and i still don't think that would be a big enough fight for Mayweather to take against Cotto.

This is just a tune up fight for floyd... it just happens that his tune up opponent is the no. 2 p4p fighter. JMM called him out in the first place...

It's a great fight but it's not the type of fight that can add to Mayweather's legacy. We all know that Marquez is no where near being a WW considering that he was already small for
JW. The only possible fight that can add to his legacy is fighting Shane who still has some Juice in the tank. He might not be the old Mosley but he's not a pushover and he's been
competitively, competing against the top Welters since Collazo

I can't understand why people are talking about Floyd cherrypicking, when he's fighting the #2 pound 4 pound fighter in the world. A guy who has moved up weight classes and just gotten better in Juan Manuel Marquez.

TO me, this puts to rest the notion that Floyd ducks people and hasn't fought enough great fighters. He's only back for the megafights, and this is gonna be a megafight! People haven't been giving Marquez enough respect in this game and he always proves ya'll wrong.

I think this is a very intriquing fight and although floyd is bigger and stronger, the ring rust is one big disadvantage that will make the fight even more interesting. The most important thing is Money Mayweather is back in boxing at a time when we need a US superstar fighter to rival the Hattons, Pacquaios, Cotto's.

:good Perfect fight for Floyd to come back. the number 2 p4p fighter in the world. So he's not a natural Welterweight that doesn't bother me too much he's still a great great fighter. This could have been way worse, Floyd could have chosen Oscar first.:D

Who would you have picked for his first fight back from a lengthy layoff?
