It's a tough fight to take, but I still think it's a stupid move in pretty much every regard.

Pacquiao has become the new torch-bearer for boxing recently. He was taking on HOF fighters, one after another. Marquez, Barrera, Morales, DLH, Hatton, Cotto...the last three aren't even in the vicinity of Pac's natural weight! (At best, he's a 130-135 lb fighter).

The fact that him and Mayweather had the chance to make the greatest fight in the last 20 years, and let it fall apart over some ridiculous non-issue is boxing politics all over again. It makes our sport look terrible. I find myself less interested in boxing now, even if they make it down the road in the summer or fall.

So the fact that Pac is going to face a good (albeit limited) fighter in Clottey is a huge letdown for the sport, even if it is a good fight.

And to be honest, Pac could LOSE this fight and it would really jeopardize the chance of salvaging the megafight against PBF.

Props to you for acknowledging this is a tough fight for Manny even though you're a Floyd fan.

I completely agree with that too!

I honestly think he can lose but i expect him to win a ud...

And taking this fight still doesn't erase the fact that i think he is a ***** for not taking a damn blood test to make the fight we all want to see happen...

But i do think he is low key showing up my boy mayweather by fighting a top welter in joshua clottey...He is putting mayweathers back against the wall and forcing mayweather to fight someone in ww or above who is as threatening as clottey and not as profitable as mayweather would like.. Thats all!!

Clottey is big, tall, and strong....he will win, and Pacquaio will be exposed for the average fighter he really is.

And if he win you'll be one of the first person on here giving him no respect for winning the fight.

    No doubt!

I would have never guessed that this would be pacs alternate fight...The little cat has balls!

I was surprised with cotto...and i think this might even be more of a surprise..

Yeah I give Manny credit for taking a solid welter, but only if he fights him at 147, which I believe it is.

    That's exactly how I feel.

Not only that, the considered #1 P4P fighter in the sport is opposing the random blood tests. Whatever the reason or intention GBP and Mayweather had with the situation, it's already out there.

What kind of message and example are you showing to the casual fans and the public, when the considered #1 P4P is opposing a fair compromise to do the random blood tests?

    DISAPPOINTED

idk...I see pac winning a ud...only people i see beating him are mosley, and mayweather (and mayweather i would guarantee that win) and possibly berto..

If its not any of the above my guess would be not to bet against pac ever again...

I agree. I give props to manny for fighting clottey. I think its a tough fight, but a winnable one. If clottey was just more active i would give him a greater chance of winning the fight. I see pacman as a 2-1 favorite.

    :good

Bob Arum or Freddie Roach should have taken Pac aside and said "I know this blood test is bull****, but it is bull**** that will put $30 million in your pocket. Just sign the ****ing paper and I'll buy you a blood donation you *******."

    Props to Pacquiao, indeed!!

This fight with Clottey is going to come down to the intangible of mental toughness...Pac has it, Clottey doesn't.

    Pac 12 round UD
