I didn't see the fight, but if it was close enough to give Tarver the decision then I have to give him credit.. I didn't think he had it in him at this point.

the guy put on a clinic against woods. It showed the disparity in skill levels.

True. I think if Tarver would have committed to his punches more, he could have scored a knockout. He certainly looked better than he has since before the Hopkins fight.

I gave Woods one round and a share of two and that was generous. Tarver looked sharp and young. I think he could take Dawson after tonight's performance. Not sure Dawson would want the fight now. I had Johnson winning by a round but it was a close fight and could have been scored in favour of either fighter. Felt bad for Johnson though he looked deeply hurt by not getting another close decision.

And from the sounds of what went down in the Dawson/Johnson match.. it sounds like Tarver could potentially stop Dawson, as well. Tarver has deceptive power.

Tarver kicked his ass. I want him to get knocked out. He's the only fighter I really don't like, but he established his jab immediately and took Woods' game away from him. He put the fear of his combinations in his head so badly that Woods wouldn't go for the obvious body shots and uppercuts.

Tarver looked better than he did his last several times out that for sure.

I thought he looked tired at the end of the fight and I thought Woods would have performed better than he did.

Still, credit due to Tarver here.

Woods had to be rated as a top 5 light heavyweight before this fight and Tarver won anywhere from 8-10 rounds against him.

Now a Tarver-Dawson fight looks pretty good.
