-Showtime really stepped up with their presentation. I totally dig Brian Kenny on the lead for the show, though I really do like Bob Popa the best (Giants fan I am). I'm also totally down with Paulie as a color commentator. Clear and concise with his "expert" analysis. -The more and more I see of Abner over the years, the more and more I love this kid. Great skill, all heart, "fan friendly" style and all around great guy. Can really do a lot in this game with lots of "hard work; Dedication"! -Floyd was just Floyd; Stephen Hawking of the Sweet Science.IMO the really impressive thing is the seeming maturation he has went through. I'm glad to see the character come more in line with his talent level. Nonetheless, always beautiful to see such pugilism. So, what were your thoughts on the overall event?
Mares is great, one of my favorite fighters. Mayweather fight wasn't competitive and revealed just how limited Guerrero is.
Love the whole card, I thought Love was shown to be over confident and I hope that is a wake up call for him or he will get seriously hurt, he doesn't have the chin or power to be fighting the way he did Mares looked good although when he got hit low I thought he didn't look good for a second and was starting to question himself but then he came back with another big shot and loved how he pilled on the pressure at the end. Mayweather, I was really impressed by him being back to his defensive best, shame his right hand didn't hold up because those lead right hands were like lasers! I can't believe how after so long he is still dominating guys and making them look amateurish. Can't wait for September now!
Great card, would be better if Santa Cruz and Mayweather had real opponents but I won't complain. If Showtime keeps stacking cards then they have a big future.
Great card...every fight was good...Mares is a monster but I want to see a rematch with PDL...Floyd proved his legs are still there nobody is going to beat him especially not Canelo
Yep, an excellent card. Really wish they had shown some of the earlier undercard fights but this was what you wanted to see. The entire card was treated as an event, they had the guest analyst in B-Hop, Brian Kenny leading the card off, the score cards of the hosts being displayed, etc. While the commentators were a little up Guerrero's ass in commentary early on they did score the fight correctly IMO and Paulie did a great job with expert commentary. Everything flowed well with no real long waits between bouts, even where KO's occurred. The Fights themselves were really good. Though, LSC-Alexander was really one sided in matchmaking. much better than the typical one sided slaughters we get(thanks Bob, you ****ing cheapskate). Plenty of high drama in those fights as well.
