Watching Adamek-USS and the first thing I notice is the atmosphere brought by the Polish fans. THAT is what a fight is supposed to look and sound like from the fans. After seeing Holt-Hopkins at Caesars last night on Showtime, you would think somebody died in there. It had warehouse written all over it. Maybe it was because of the fighters' styles, I don't know.
While I could've done without the booing of Cunningham (For what reason? I can understand if he was doing anything disrespectful a la Bobby Boy vs. Morales or Hopkins vs. Trinidad, but what did USS do to deserve that?), erase that part and you have the ideal boxing environment.
Being ringside at the fight and seeing all the red and white colors was CRAZY! I loved every bit of it and I'm a Cunningham guy. Props to the Polish people! They are passionate towards their guys.
The fans were upset the one judge scored the fight for Cunningham, and they took it out on Steve when he was interviewed. Very unfortunate.
Agreed! While he was giving a speech at the end of the fight most fans where booing him. Actually a huge fight broke out right behind us and it looked like the Philly guys vs the Polish guys. The Philly guys where pissed at what happened. And the thing about it is Steve has always said on how much he loves the polish fans.
I disagree. There was enought time between hearing what one judge scored the fight and Adamek winning the belt then the interviews. Their guy already won the title. Should of gave Steve some props. I stood up and clapped for Adamek...believe it or not.
