Pro ... it will eliminate Politics in boxing ... and create some clairty in the sport to as who the champion is and what he's done to get there.

I'm personally in favor of it but I know that there's some cons of having one sanctioning body.

    * Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) championship

    - boxing capital of the world (Vegas)
    - biggest fights in the world (held in Vegas)

Con - The champion could hold the title for hostage, giving the waiting contenders no where else to go.

Con- if it's corrupt or has dodgey dealings it affects a hell of a lot more people .

Also it seems most of the time when people are talking about one sanctioning body they talk about it as one nationa commission. Do some people forget there is actually boxing outside of the US ?

Yeah but back in the day the world championships came through the US ... NYSAC championship strap and they were considered the champions of the world.

    Con:

Only HBO's darlings would get title shots. Thus there wouldn't be any titleholders younger than 35.

Not in Britain they weren't and then Britain and France came together to make the IBU which .

What is needed is one single global sanctioning body(ala FIFA) and then continetal sanctioning bodies under that(UEFA) but we'll never get that .
