Okay first of all, the Mayweather-Canelo fight will not happen at 147, in fact I don't think it happens this year. This is for fun discussion purposes only.

Brandon Rios Fighting Pacquiao at 147:

    Cons:
    1. Coming off a loss where he looked easy to hit and outboxed by a brawler.
    2. Stylistically tailor made for Pacquiao.
    3. Coming up to 147 in his first fight there, and Pacquiao's 8th WW fight.
    4. Will probably be slower than ever and bloated.

    Pros:
    1. Will get to focus on the right gameplan instead of making weight.
    2. Size advantage.
    3. Because he will make weight easily, he will probably be stronger than ever.
    4. Youth; He is 27 years old to Pacquiao's 34 years old.
    5. Very energetic, will probably be able to go 12 full rounds with good stamina because he will be at a weight that benefits his large size.
    6. Chin and power. If he comes to be a punching bag, at least we can look forward to him being a competitive punching bag because of chin and power. Pacquiao has been knocked out 3 times in his career.

Canelo Alvarez Fighting Mayweather at 147:

    Cons:

    1. Hasn't made 147 in 3 years. Will most likely be weight drained.
    2. Stylistically, he probably can't even beat Floyd at 154, let alone while being weight drained at 147.
    3. Will have to focus more on making weight and sacrifice quality time actually training for a good game plan.
    4. Will be weak on fight night, so advantages like power will be hindered.
    5. The supposed stamina/low workrate issues that were shown in the Trout fight according to some fans, could possibly be more obvious at 147 where he will be even weaker and gas out earlier.

    Pros:

    1. If the fight happens at 147, even in losing, Canelo keeps his 154 Ring/WBC/WBA titles and can go back to 154 like nothing happened.
    2. If he wins, he gets Floyd's Ring/WBC 147 titles. Something he didn't get to do in his time at 147, making him champion in two weight classes. He can then vacate the titles and go back to 154 to defend his 154 titles.
    3. Youth; Canelo is 13 years younger than Mayweather. Mayweather is close to 40 and can become old overnight.
    4. Judges are no longer giving Floyd the 120-108, 119-109 scorecards he used to get. Cotto and Guerrero got a combined five 117-111 scorecards out of six scorecards.
    5. Size. Never really a big factor in Floyd fights because he never let's a fighter impose their size on him, because he outboxes them. But still, it's a pro.

    nice thought out post

If Floyd wants to fight Canelo, it does have to be at 154

Pac gets a pass on this imo, Rios is a good comeback fight
