  1. **** off would it.

You've seen the ducking and diving that goes on in the pros

Pac and mayweather won't get in the ring together for 50 million dollars, but they are going to sign up for a tournament where they could face ANYONE for FREE?

I don't expect they would. Other top fighters might. USA Boxing should really follow the lead with this...

  3. Welcome to the new Olympics, "prizefighter the journeymen vs the kids, without the 50,000 prize"

James Toney and Grady Brewer are the only pros who will take them up on the offer.

if floyd doesnt want to fight for his country....his decision. if pac wants to fight for his, good luck to him.

but in the end. the winner gets the glory. best in the world. ppf didnt turn up. chicken? gutless? it aint about money. hes got that. it aint about drugs, olympics test that. history would show pac the olympic champ, and ppf as not turning up.

the boxing world would see that, and every pro would want to represent their country.

floyd didnt win a gold when he did try as an am. what is the chance he would like another go...?

and manny. the phillipines have never won a gold medal in boxing, do you think he would represent his country?

  7. This.

No decent pro is going to turn down hbo or showtime money for a year to win a gold medal in a 3 rounder tournament where they can't even have sponsors on their shorts

Do some of you even follow boxing?

I'm thinking this is all hypothetical anyway and it is AIBA's system. But, USA Boxing has to follow. Can't go another Olympics like this...

this is what i think, im sure the guys competing as amateurs care, because i hate the idea of pros being in the olympics if i was to ever make it.

This means the end of amature boxing as we know it. I do think that in the USA the NCAA should start a serious boxing program, so should High Schools. It would alow at least in America young boxers to devlope. At lest send college scouts to gyms to recruit. They are going to have compotition. I think if pro boxers are alowed in any form to compete in the Olympics. We are going to see a lot of 15 & 16 year olds turn pro. It kind of makes sense. Build up a good pro record while learning on the job. Fight one year in the APB, go to the Olympics win the Gold, and parlay that into a big fight.

I think as far as the estalblished pros goes. I think at least for 2016 most of the ones that are going to try for the Olympics are going to be the talanted guys who have not caught their break who will parlay their Olympic secuess into that big break in the pro ranks. This could change by 2020, but in 2016 I don't think the world's best boxers are going to be in the Olympics.
