Golovkin has some attributes which can favor him against most of the middleweights today. I wouldn't overrate him too early, though. As he could be another token hype job.

Fortunately for him, there isn't anyone that troubling in the middleweight division other than Martinez.

If Lara moved up he would give a great fight to Golovkin.

I think he will be matched well from now on. I think it's the perfect time for him.

Proksa would get owned hard against Martinez. He is not a good enough fighter to use his style. He would get knocked out quicker than Macklin and Barker did.

Proksa is simply not that good. I knew he was going to get koed mid-rounds, and many probably did aswell.

It even looked like he took a dive when he got hurt. Not saying he did. But he made sure he landed a certain way to not get brutally koed.

He couldn't beat Kerry Hope the first time around. A guy with 1 knockout to his name. A feather fisted dust man. The writing was on the wall.

    You suck.
Proksa is very good, but GGG is phenomenal. I think Chavez Jr or Canelo has no chance with him. Golovkin has extraordinary power in fists. I think Martinez also has no chance against Golovkin. He is too powerful. I supported Proksa, but I have a lot of respect for Golovkin. Hats off to him!

Proksa fights in a style that his skill set doesn't warrant. He's not fast or quick enough for him to be leaving his hands so low. Also, his leading with power punches won't work for him at the higher levels of boxing. He's not an elite athlet and you have to be to fight in the style of Martinez or RJJ. He's not a bad fighter, and he would be more effective if he fought in an orthodox style and learn some defense.

No, Proksa sucks. I saw him fight live when he was just starting, and i knew he sucked back then. Knocking out really, really bad opponents. He had no defense then. GGG isn't phenomenal. You're overrating him. I agree he's very good but he's no SRR.

Lara would be a nightmare for Golovkin.

And we will soon see how good Jr's chin actuslly is.

Golovkin has extraordinary power in fists. Does he? He has really good power, yes. But one punch Julian Jackson power?

I don't think he has. And i think he can be hurt and knocked out.

    Argue that one.

Golovkin is beatable. He is a very good but he is no Sugar Ray Robinson, or Thomas Hearns.

When he starts beating better boxers i will jump back on the band wagon again. If he knocks out Geale in 5 rounds or less i will say he's phenomenal.

I don't think he sucks, but he fights like a dimestore Roy Jones or Sergio Martinez. He needs to find a style that suits him. He has to talent to be successful, but he needs to fight like a professional.

I didn't call the fight garbage. I don't go out my way to call other fighters garbage usually.

Yeah, you obviously have with 13k posts. I have been through real wars.

All these new boxers are nowhere near as good as the boxers, or as tough as the boxers of yesteryear.

Boxing is becoming more rigged than ever.

    The Martinez fight is rigged.

Pirog and Proksa were easy wins for Golovkin. Pirog struggled with Martirosyan and guys who are lower level than even Andy Lee.

Proksa is a skinny little middleweight. He's a small middleweight and is not fit to be in the ring at that level.

And i would tell it to him to his face. I have been hit by nastier tougher ppl than him with no gloves. Bare fists, rings, metal bars,..etc..

Actually, that was working well for him last nite. While GGG likely won't admit it, Proska caught him a few times with lead L hands, and GGG NEVER, not once, countered one of Proskas misses due to him trying not to get caught again by it.

Other than that.....good post. Proska really needs to pick his fights if he's gonna stick with this style.
I'd take him to beat Sturm or Macklin. He'd beat that Gonzalez kid from the opener without any trouble. He's a contender as he is, but if he wants to be Alevel, titlist level or Champ level, he's gonna need to improve that D and buckle down on picking his spots.
