I dont agree and I think Froch's style will be worse than Ward for Keslser. Froch throws punhers from unusual angles and although his footwork is slow and not very good he has the power to make Kessler tentative when coming forward.

Froch won't be able to get past Kessler's jab. He poses no threat to Kessler imo.

Froch has a long reach and his jab could potentially more troublesome for Kessler. Froch can counter with power when he needs to and I would not be surprised if he caught him with a huge uppercut coming in.

in my opinion this is a sensible, balanced and rather unbiased post, refreshing even (at least for the General forum), I applaud the poster.

Lets not be too ready to **** on these hard working professionals who put their lives and health at risk (i believe that some here do not fully appreciate the significant and tragic consequences that these warriors undergo for our pleasure). We would do well to consider that were we to measure ourselves by the same standards expressed by some (so-called chin checkers e.g. Zakman and pin-headed accoloytes), we would be found sorely wanting, and then quite a lot more.
I have had some pleasure in watching Joe C. from his early days (including amateur), before his hand problems (forced him to change his style) when he was a serious "banger", he was an entertainer, yet like all boxers he also had his stylistic problems and off nights.
I might remind that to appreciate any boxer, one has to appreciate/review the (even full) body of work of the said boxer. Furthermore experiencing the bouts at the time with all the doubts/unknowns is very different to looking at the results following (historical view that most fans here judge on) the bouts (ESB seems to be blessed with a statistically inordinate amount of Harry hindsight jockeys that are 100% in predictions).
My view on the Kessler/Ward fight: Well done to Andre, he clearly dominated Mikkel (and I was surprised to say the least, I thought that in a tough close fight Kessler would loose the 1st 6 rounds and come from behind and win a UD or possibly even stop Ward). Too fast, too good Andre, Mikkel had no answers, albeit (and not trying to take away from Andre's great performance) the situation around the victory leaves the detractors with some valid ammunitions (in my view mainly intentional butt(s)). Mikkel was one-dimensional, flat-footed and bereft in defence, mostly due to the movement and cleverly adapted style of Andre, however it should be noted that despite a great performance from Andre, Mikkel was clearly not 100 percent. Results are results though and that is what is recorded in the record books, Andre could only beat the man in front of him that night and he did so most emphatically.
In conclusion, Andre is a fine (eventually ATG) boxer, that (in retrospect, but props to those that called it) was well matched so far, it will be interesting to see how he does in the remaining bouts. I respect his ability, nevertheless his style is not my preferred.

P.S. I think that he beats Jermain quite handily, Froch as well but with some "moments". King Arthur is very underrated and will be his biggest test (styles etc.)
P.S. Sorry for the length (i blame it on Becks beer).
    Cheers.

Calzaghe wouldn't consider wiping his arse with your resume, even if it was the last piece of paper left on earth. Cotto is a wariror and potential ATG, he would be ashamed of any all time ass sucker idiot who expresses such worthless opinions as you do. I am sure that Miguel holds his contemporarys in much higher esteem than you do.

i am the 1st to agree that Joe should have tested himself more, but he didn't and he will live (very well) with it. if you actually knew a littler bit about Joe, you might have a different understanding, I expect that you have an agenda so it is pointless in giving you pointers, nevertheless there are others that will read this thread and hence pointers will not be without merit. Look at Joe. C. early fights to see his real knock-out power in both hands, and you will see how he adapted due to his serious hand injurys in his later/final fights.
Whilst i have the utmost respect for Joe, I agree that he was "sheltered" fighting euro "stifs" for a long time, albeit mixed up with the best USA fighters at the time (Brewer, Sheka, Mitchel), nevertheless Joe didnot really test himself. at least for the haters. The Hopkins story/legend will always be that, each will believe what suits their own personal preference.

I respect Joe as an ATG, if I had been his manager things would have been different, but I could say that about almost any boxer.

P.S. I like Ward (not his SOG monkier though) but Joe would after 2 rounds, have litterally pissed all over him and knocked him out via exhaustion in the 9th or 10th round. So Andre coudl be ATG, lets give him some time before we annoint hime.

    Cheers.

The 43 year old Hopkins went on and beat Pavlik easily.

He beat Bika who is still ranked around the top 5.
    Robin Reid,former WBC title holder
Richie Woodhall, another former WBC title holder
Charles Brewer had held the IBF world title
Byron Mitchell had held the WBA title, only a couple of fights before he fought Calzaghe.

Calzaghes record isnt nearly as weak as some people like to make out
