Looks good got more of a pro style than a lot of newcomers that come out of ABA, that'd be the League & Global input.
You should hear paul flemings. I asked him after our fight one night and from memory he is has a mix of aboriginal, german, i think he said thai??...he rattled off about five nationalities.
I think you're on the money Horse. Born in the Isa.Spent time in Cloncurry and Hughenden before moving to the east coast.
Looks like a Mundine clone. Very simliar with that footwork. Opponent(who needs to get some boxing shoes, running shoes are the worst for boxing, no lateral assistance, makes it even harder) may have had something to do with the hunting style. He needs to develop of course and work his way up. But overall looked very promising I thought. Long reach must be a good thing, something Mundine lacked.
You're right. He has some work to do but how exciting is it seeing a young bloke that is(IMO) just as quick as choc and with a great reach!!:nut
...yep...his old man Tommy had a club in Cloncurry and came down to a couple of amateur shows I put on in Charters Towers back in '98/'99...I can't remember much about Rocky 'cept I liked the sound of his name..but one thing I knew about Tommy was that he traveled huge distances in a weekend to get his fighters fights..all in a dirty old 4 cyl Carolla or a old Mazda or something...it was boxing on a budget..drive through the night..fight..then drive home...sort of typifies the commitment that was needed to keep boxing alive out the bush and to keep gettin' kids fights...sounds like all the miles and the hard work payed off for Tommy and Rocky.:good
Dont worry PJ mate i will check out Dulorme this wkend. Heard lots of good things. Looking forward to seeing 1 of my fav young boxers Mikey Garcia in action too!
