The Russian broadcast had him at 190 cm for his debut, which would only make him slightly taller than Povetkin (who's 188 cm). The WSB homepage isn't very reliable when it comes to heights. They have Lawrence Okolie listed at 186 cm (6'1''), even though he's around 6'5'' in reality and Joshua Buatsi at 176 cm (5'9''), even though he's a solid 185 cm ( 6'1'').

Well, Zarate is listed at 6'5", I think Afonin is 6'3".Parker became world champion being 6'4" feet tall, so he can make an impact on heavyweight ranks.

(Montreal) In front of his most important career test, Simon Kean delivered a brilliant performance Saturday night to more than 5,500 people at the Bell Center by the victory by unanimous decision against Avery Gibson, an American colt with a solid jaw.

For the first time in his professional career, Simon Kean did not finish his rival by K.-O. And it is not for lack of having tried. The Trifluvien was the instigator of almost all the attacks, his opponent limited to a few timid sequences of counter-attack and much hang.

Nevertheless, Simon Kean (8-0, 7 KOs) keeps his perfect record with an eighth victory in as many professional fights.

"I am very happy to have played against a guy who brought me to the limit of eight rounds. This is how I will learn, not with K.-O. In the first round. I had a lot of fun, that's sport! ", Commented Kean, smiling, on the edge of the ring.

On several occasions during the eight rounds, the goal of Eye of the Tiger Management felt its rival flex in the arena, without succeeding in unlocking the fatal blow. In the eighth and final assault, the London 2012 Olympian spent almost 90 seconds overcoming Gibson without stopping. Completely exhausted, and sometimes staggering in the ring, the American nevertheless survived until the last bell, before delirious supporters at the end of their seat.

"I wanted to finish it. I emptied the tank to get there, but it was hard to bring down, "noted Kean, also happy to have cashed a few shots in his duel. "I could see what it was, get it."

It must be said that Gibson is recognised as a very durable boxer, having never been put out of action in 18 outings with professionals.

Kean's coach Jimmy Boisvert was also delighted with his protégé's performance. "I am very pleased with what he has offered. "In eight rounds, at the Bell Center, in the semifinals, and with a lot of media attention, I think he answered several questions that some people were asking."
