It seems like when prospects lose(kahn-litzou-Joel Julio etc) within their next two fights they're fighting for a title. If Chavez Jr lost today he would be fighting for a title tomorrow. So in a way losing is good because it speeds up the process of them getting a title shot.
You can't come to that conclusion based on a few exceptions. Losing is never good, it may win you fans when you put a good performance in an area where you are not known (recent example Funeka). In no competitive sport losing is good.
Now you really are completely ******ed. First the thread about all southpaw v southpaw fights end in knockouts. And now this. GTFO Noob.
You sound like Slurpacockski. Your not bothering me at all, I'm just telling you that you're embarrassing yourself.
You're embarrasing yourself if you don't understand what im saying you're an idiot. Losing can be bad for prospects but usually the get title shots within 2 or 3 fights of that loss. How can you dissagree with that?
Deandre Latimore was a prospect when he lost to Ian Gardner. He's only just getting a title fight 2 years later, and 9 fights later. David Haye was a prospect when he suffered his first defeat but Carl Thompson back in 2004. Took him 10 fights and just over 3 years to get his first world title shot. Just two examples that spring to mind, and there's plenty of others. There is also plenty of prospects that have suffered defeats and then never got back to fulfilling their potential and therefore never got a world title shot.
Well your failing miserably. And I'm the douche bag despite the fact you are making topics trying to tell us that if a prospect suffers a defeat he is guarenteed a world title shot within 2-3 fights? And that all fights involving 2 southpaws end in KO's?
Well you have a fair point there about prospects getting title shots but not the speeding up the process bit. fighters that have a high knockout percentage and who are being dealt with by high profile promoters usually get title shots around their 20th fight. Amir Khans had about 20 fights and is now getting a shot after beating a future HOF. admittedly his win was a dodgy one but still its a win all the same.
Andy Lee was on the cusp of stardom. He had a hall of fame trainer hyping him. ESPN and Versus loved hm. Top Rank was ready to sign him to a 4 fight deal that guaranteed him two appearances on Pavlik cards, and a shot at the champ. Now he's ranked #25 on boxrec, and fighting cab drivers in Ireland. Just one more example of why the original post is wacked.
haha i was listening to boxing on the radio when i was 12 year old waiting to the early hours of the morning just to listen to prince nasseem, ahh the good old days and anytime a fighter loses, it breaks them mentally and some boxers even change there whole fighting style totally go defensive, and look a shadow of themselves some dont even fight again, so no losing in a fight you have trainined months and months for is really damaging mentally
