I think kovalev was getting KTFO even with no last accidental low blow and with it continuing. Ward had already dissected him and was destroying him with ease. He was going to the canvas.

Your boy was done, the only reason the last punch MIGHT have been low was because he bent into it at the waist as Ward was digging, tgat first punch was clearly on the belt which is legal territory, particularly when your hero was wearing his trunks above his belly button. The real issue, and why it was stopped, was because after having his legs turned to jelly, and completely altering his composure he stopped fighting back. You cant do that in modern boxing unless you want the ref to stop it. Ward did the same thing he did last time: he took an overrated fighter with little late round experience deep and drowned him.
